Phoenix Update

Ok...I think we have a winner here...what do you guys think? Very much updated and very much unique yet, still flows inline with the original somewhat?

phoenix symbolises firey eagle(I suppose).you could put a fiery x in the eq like the one I've made(where there is a gap btween the pre amp and other sliders.)see the attachment.

I am just keeping the color scheme for now in tones of earth and fire...
(a legendary Arabian bird said to periodically burn itself to death and emerge from the ashes as a new phoenix; according to most versions only one phoenix lived at a time and it renewed itself every 500 years)
The ashes + fire theme is what I am looking for an as for the actual image place on the eq area...

I've completed the main...woohoo....yeah excellent w00t, sorry...took what felt like forever...sigh. But, here ya go...this is the final look at the main...and I'm actually doing stuff to the eq... weeee!

I've got some of the pressed states shown...as well as the vis and stuff....

Looks ok so far, good looking, but somehow feels... stretched... wonder how it'll look in action.

Random fact: My grandmother's family name is Definis. It's an old noble family, originally from Italy. It's derived from, well, De Phoenix, or something like that. We even have it in our family crest .

I was given a suggestion by my most valuable critic and I went back and updated the main...which will require alot of work getting the rest of the components to fit in with it as a result of the changes...Though, I am very scared of this new form and design I have come up with I do believe that some of peacemaker has finally come through. Please let me know what you think good or bad...remember I have a ss here so I can always go back.

So, here is Phoenix 2.0 Main Revisited, revised and in all its glory.

Note I am thinking about putting lights in the area above the cbutton row.

i'm not sure which i like since both versions are pretty hot. i do prefer the new style of the main buttons, the red band before going across them didn't seem to fit too well i thought.

and pheonixes are a great mythological symbol especially with the way that they represent longevity (quite a coincedence when i got one as a tattoo)

be nice to see this when it's done (though when is a skin ever really done )

Looks REALLY nice. The text-being-cut-off effect's very nice, and the like the overall look. And yeah, really looks like a peacemaker skin now, in a way.

Well, at this point I think I have finally moved on from my own old style to something evidentally new...BTW: here is the eq and main together...with all of the work I have put into them both...I am right now working on the (button) center for the eq thing. Trying to work in a graphic of a phoenix...sigh. Slow process this thing is. but, Progress none the less.

Looks very good as it's coming right now. Just one thing, the EQ seems a little dark compared to the main. You might want to either add contrast to the main, or lighten the EQ bar surrounds a bit. Or leave it as is, and call it art

I suppose that I am trying to give each window a unique look while attempting to keep them locked to each other in style...but, I'm no artist. I am just an pixel guy that thinks I can make a skin. The eq bars have been updated a bit to lighten them up and seperate them a bit. I think the effect is pretty good. The part I am currently confused with is the playlist editor window which is causing me a bit of a headache...But, with everything else that I have done I am sure I will come up with a solution eventually.

Two bugs/issues I found.

No. 1 (issue): Why are the 3rd, 4th and 5th stack different than the first two ? They look unfinished.

No. 2 (bug): The gen_ex exit button drops one pixel when clicked (AVS window, Media Library, etc.).

Some of the frames in the volume animation seem out of sync. The slider appears to skip somewhere between 50% - 70% volume.

in the winshade on the main the shade button moves up a pixel.

the volume.bmp actually at 50% does skip up ... I had to do it somewhere and figured that the 50% mark was the best area.

The pixel up issue...i am not seeing in my main...but, it could be on the main and genex...I will investigate it a bit further...

3/4/5 PL Stacks I couldn't get them to match correctly...I will work on this for update shortly
