output plug-ins not working!

I'm a new user and just installed 5.1 plus the lame output dll.

I'm trying to convert a few midis to mp3 format, so I selected the output plugin to use Lame MP3. When I play the mps, I hear the audio and do not get mp3s created.

I also tried selecting Nullsoft Disk Writer, but I still hear the audio of the midi instead of having a file created.

Any help would be appreciated!

Preferences > Plug-Ins > Input > Nullsoft MIDI Player > Configure > Device: DirectMusic/Microsoft Synthesizer (with output)

The others don't use Winamp's output plugins.
