you should try downloading time restore & autoplay v2.0beta (which i think is the latest version) configure after installing under pref>plugins>general
you would be able to start winamp at startup from here, as well as autoplay, as well as point to a specific file. alternativley you could create a scheduled task (under windows control panel) for 'program files\winamp\winamp.m3u' and have whatever song you want played first in the playlist when you exit before turning off your comp. I 'think' you would also require dro's plugin for this as well, and check play from the start of the playlist. |

In the "control" panel you'll find the sound scheme setup, Change the "Start Windows" sound to whatever. Instead of the default sound. It may have to be a WAV file that you play, I'm not sure.
With XP that's Control Panel-->Sound Speech and Audio devices-->Change the sound scheme I changed mine to Pink Floyd "How can you have your pudding if you don't eat your meat". Got tired of the utopia sound scheme. Critical stop is Sam Kennison going "AAAAAAAHHHH!" Global Movies and TV God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to hide the bodies of people who pissed me off. |

Even simpler (if you have XP): -
you could just drop a playlist into the startup folder in the start button. When windows starts it executes everything in this folder so winamp will begin to play the tunes in the playlist |
