Play Random Album
Say you have a lot of albums in your Winamp Library, and you're not really sure of what you want to listen to at the moment. Ever happened to you? Yeah, it sure has for me as well.
That is why I would love it if there was an option to choose: 1) Play Random Album (by a certain artist) 2) Play Random Album (by any artist) <-- This is my favorite. Well, would be my favorite. 3) Play One Album (from randomized artists) These aren't specific options that I want (except maybe for the 2nd example above). I'm basically just trying to spawn ideas, but it's very close to what I'm looking for. If this wonderful wish is fulfilled, I would be very glad. Have a good day, reader! :-) /Victor |

The shuffle feature needs to be extended to support media library filtering.

... yeah.
I suspected something needed to be extended. ;P I just hope it won't be too much work to follow through with if they take on the task, because then most likely it will be followed by bug reports and player updates etc etc. Ah well, I just have to wait, I guess. |

album list lets you play a random album, or a random album by a certain artist.

It's just that I want it to keep playing random albums by any artist continuously and not just one random album and then pick up the playing as normal. Just like if you would shuffle the playlist. In other words, this plug-in works as a "go-to random album" plug-in, and then starts playing like normal. This plugin also forces Winamp to continue playing albums when one album is finished playing. I want to be able to enable playing a (or all) random album(s) by a 1) certain artist and 2) any artist, continuously. And if I'm satisfied with what I've listened to, I want to disable it. I know I can just disable the plug-in, but that requires me to go into preferences for plug-ins everytime and yadda yadda. It's all for convenience, right? Keep coming up with great ideas until it ultimately has to be implemented! :-) Last edited by zamanian87; 6th October 2005 at 09:27. |

I like this feature, too (after using a similiar feature on my zen vision M), so there's a good chance it'll be implemented in a future version

Two Birds w/ One New Feature
Addition of an Album Shuffle function would also enable a workaround for some of the challenges experienced by those attempting to play and organize classical music within Winamp.

Awesome!
In addition to this, I'd love it if there was a feature of the winamp library to save playlists and have them in the same structure as the audio library instead of hundreds of playlist files (if you have hundreds of album playlists like I do) in one list of playlists. Wouldn't that be much faster to search through than importing thousands of say, MP3 files? Just add a buncha playlists and then have them in a winamp library structure that shows the folder they were found in as either a folder-tree structure, or the most pleasing artist-albums-tracks, three-pane layout that is default for the Local Media->Audio part of Winamp Library. Just spawning (great) ideas here. Give me a shout here in the thread if ya like 'em!

Though you started it, this thread is for discussion of an Album Shuffle function. Other topics should be discussed in another thread in the appropriate forum. Last edited by jph6t; 24th October 2006 at 22:03. |

Yes, I apologise!
I'd delete it but it seems it's too late, or so I'm guessing. It's giving me a warning about doing something I'm not at liberty to do. Anyway, it was merely a side note, really. So don't mind it, and stay on the topic of an album shuffler in this thread! ![]() Peace Edit: "[...] of a album shuffler [...]" Nice English. |
