ShoutCast for the first time

I just got your shoutcast program, i have downloaded alot of different things but atleast i got the GUI the DNAS and the plugin.

Then i do as you say with Encoder=1
Output =1
and all that stuff, and under address i enter my IP as its told by www.myip.dk and varius other IP sites, i choose port 8000 and then i press connect, it says connecting for a bit of a time and then it just says not connected.
Why? and it uses encoder1 that encodes in MP3 with 192 kbs

do you have a shoutcast server to stream to? is it setup and working? can you view the shoutcast admin page? have you changed and used the correct passwords? have you followed to sticky threads in this forum to better understand what it takes to setup and run a broadcast?

i have followed the stickies and guides, and i use the Winamp interface where i can change the settings, right now im trying the INI file but its quite confusing and when i look at the guides, every thing is set correct the SrcIP
is set to ANY because i have static IP

but someone say i should say localhost or was it local host in the address field but none of the ways worked

so you have a winamp plugin called shoutcast dsp, and you also have a shoutcast server running as well right?

that was the first thing i got from winamp.com but im not sure what it does, i just installed it, it includes the sentinel plugin but not sure whatever it does.

i have a hunch that its bad, you dont need it either
