Got a couple more pictures of one of those T-38s today.
![]() ![]() ![]() I saw the DC-10 (the Omni Air Intl. DC-10 that I posted pictures of earlier in this thread) that I'd seen before again this morning. It landed at about 06:45, just before work started. I didn't get pictures of it because it came in before I could get my camera. I took note of the time, though. Almost exactly three hours later, I saw it take off (my jobsite was only a few blocks from the airport). Again, I took note of the time... While I was bringing a scoop of dirt back to the stockyard with my backhoe, I just happened to pull in at the right time. Exactly as I turned in, I saw an MD-11 rolling down the runway. I pulled my backhoe over by the fence, got my camera out of the glovebox (I put it in there JUST IN CASE ), and got some pictars... and noted the time.DSCF0012.jpg DSCF0019.jpg ...And exactly three hours later. DSCF0106.jpg I thought that was a little interesting. Also, I've finally surpassed 10,000 captures with my camera since I got it. Woo.

![]() ![]() ![]() I got these pictures this morning. Again, it's a 737-500 just like the other five that I've posted in this thread. They all have the same departure origin, departure time, flight path, destination, etc. The only visible difference between all of them is the tail number. So far, that's six identical 737s. The flight that I took out of Gulfport a little over a year ago was COA1084. I don't know what the tail number of that 737 is, but that flight is now flying between Baton Rouge and Houston every day (whether it's actually the same plane or not, I don't know). And I don't even know if the tail number and flight number are connected at all. According to KGPT's flight schedule, COA1857 has been the flight I've been getting pictures of since March 13th (possibly earlier than that). If flight numbers and tail numbers were connected, then the plane above would be the same as the one I posted a few days ago. So I guess that means they're not connected. It's really weird how they cycle identical planes through different routes across different airports like that.

![]() That's seven. Again, identical except for the tail number. But I did manage to get pictures of a old C-130 this afternoon. ![]() ![]()

This is one of the most unusual aircraft I've ever seen fly in and out of KGPT...
DSCF0350.jpg DSCF0356.jpg DSCF0361.jpg DSCF0377.jpg DSCF0380.jpg DSCF0382.jpg DSCF0383.jpg DSCF0385.jpg Obviously, this is a rather old large object transport plane. I think it's built on a modified P-3 airframe. At any rate, NASA uses it to transport big shtuff. Someone told me that they used this plane to transport the Apollo space capsules back in the late 60s and early 70s, but I don't know how true that is.And in case you're wondering what's inside... DSCF0346.jpg D'oh! It's the same T-38 that I posted on page 3. I'm sure they're transporting it back to the John C Stennis Space Center that's just west of here. |

Oh, that's what that thing's called. I'd seen pictures of it before, but I never bothered to look up its name.
![]() And check out what I saw today: DSCF0431.jpg DSCF0442.jpg KC-135 Stratotanker. It'd just finished a touch-and-go in the first picture, so it's only a few hundred feet above the runway here. In the second picture, it's at about FL020.

Beautiful plane, especially with that anti-dazzle nose and the needle on top of the tail. I wish our airforce would purchase planes like that, instead of closing down the airbase here!

We had one of these big asses doing touch-and-go's today but as I came back into town (I didn't make it in time to get a pic), he was finishing his last tire smoker:

What aircraft thread would be complete without this?
I was able to tour this monster at the Cleveland airport a while ago - I couldn't believe that this thing could actually get off the ground - and to think that it even flew with a piggyback space shuttle back in the cold war days! Don't forget to live before you die.

C-17 Globemaster.
As slow as it flies around here, it boggles the mind that it can even stay aloft. |

Well, since I made it back from Georgia again, it's time for me to post the pictures I promised that I would.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This aircraft needs no introduction. These pictures were taken at the beginning of rwy 32C here at KGPT on Thursday afternoon, 04-27-2006 at 16:05. |

Very nice Sarge.
![]() Glad you got those pics of Air Force One before someone painted graffiti on it. ![]() (Just a hoax, of course. Full story here.) I'm a psychosomatic sister running around without a leash. |

Damn, I normally hate graffiti, but I wish that stunt really happened to air force 1. At least I can still laugh about all the white house keyboard w's being stolen when he came in to office.

Nice one, Scor.
![]() When I saw it several days ago, I noticed that Air Force One is kept IMMACULATE. You'd be hard pressed to find an unbuffed spot in the shine on that plane. And btw... It's not the plane's fault that the current president is a noob. Don't take your hatred out on Air Force One. If nothing else, it demands respect because it's such an awesome symbol of power. |

You're right; I stand corrected. The plane kix ass regardless of who rides in it. It's still a 'dope ride' and should be respected. (please don't induct me into the face slap thread for that last comment...) We should spray graffiti on him directly, not on his plane. Don't forget to live before you die.

Nice. Not only is it a great symbol of power, it just looks great. The color selection is good and it looks like it's washed before every flight.

I know I haven't been 'round here much lately, but I figured I'd post a few more pictures that I've taken over the past week or so...
![]() ![]() Another set of pictures of Continental flight 1857. Boeing 737-524, 06:59 on 05-03-2006, just left from rwy 14C at KGPT. I'm too lazy to check, but I'm pretty sure this one again has a different tail number than all the rest of the COA1857 737s that I've taken pictures of and posted in this thread. ![]() ![]() KC-135 Stratotanker. It had just performed a touch-and-go at 10:46, same runway, same day. ![]() ![]() This is a really rare sight here at KGPT. I'm not sure where this plane came from, who was on it, or what their purpose was, but it's a Boeing 737-700 series. At first, I thought it was a 737-600 series because of the short fuselage, but the winglets aren't offered on anything lower than the 700 series. Other than the winglets, the new gen (ie, 600-900 series) 737s are distinguished from the previous generation (ie, 300-500 series) by the new larger wings and tail. At any rate, it's a very beautiful aircraft. ![]() ![]() AirTran flight 658 also departing from rwy 14C here at KGPT. 10:58 on 05-03-2006. Boeing 717-200. DSCF0798.jpg This is also a rare sight at KGPT. It's a Boeing 727-200. Took this photo as it taxied onto rwy 32C right behind a Bombardier RJ-200. The 727 is actually a remarkable plane. It was produced from 1963 until 1984. 1,832 of them were built. For the first thirty years of commercial jet airline service, the 727 was the most popular until it's discontinuation. The 737 (which shares much of its fuselage with the 727) is now the most popular commercial jet airliner of all time. Personally, I think the 727 still looks good, even over 20 years after it's discontinuation. DSCF0811.jpg Here you can see the Delta/ASA Bombardier RJ-200 in front of the 727 pulling onto rwy 32C at 15:21 on 05-05-2006. Without seeing the rest of the plane, the 727 can easily be confused with the 737 in this image. DSCF0817.jpg DSCF0835.jpg DSCF0862.jpg After the RJ-200 departs, the 727 pulls onto rwy 32C and begins throttling up even before lining up. Didn't take long before wheels-up. |

My Grandfather says he's seen enough airplanes after he worked for Boeing, yet he still points out specific parts and tells me exactly about it, and how he was one of the people that designed such and such specific parts. :P

My uncle Richard used to work for Boeing, too. He installed the doors and hatches on the first 747s.

If no one's ever seen it, it'd never have been designed, produced or flown.
