Feel my pain
About two weeks ago, Depeche Mode was here in Seattle. I didn't get to go
Tickets were a bit pricey ![]() You ever had a chance to go to a concert and couldn't go? If so, who'd you miss? |

I've missed plenty, most painful was the chance to see Stereolab while Mary Hansen was still alive.
![]() Others are PWEI (a band on permanent tour yet I STILL missed 'em), Primal Scream, The Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive. New Order before Bernard started dancing... |

Quite a few. The Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum was a semi-popular concert destination until Katrina smashed the entire south portion of the state. Also, the ******s down here always had shows going on. The new Hard Rock ****** that was scheduled to open up just over a week after the hurricane hit was going to host Velvet Revolver as their first show. The Beau Rivage, both Grand ******s, the Imperial Palace, and most of the other ******s always had performances. Usually, every single week, you could see multiple shows, and at least once every two weeks there would be a major concert somewhere in Gulfport or Biloxi.
Don't have to worry about that any more... but that's ok. I was never really a concert goer. I've been to a couple in my lifetime that were really awesome, but it's not something that I would do all the time. |

I missed BT with Hooverphonic in 2000 or 2001, right before Movement in Still Life got huge. This was when BT was touring with a live band (something very few electronica artists do). I've seen him twice since, once when he was DJing, and the most recent was his Laptop Symphony, where he DJs on his laptop and does live remixing of songs which is pretty cool.
Still regret missing the live band version though... |

I would love to have seen Queen with Freddie Mercury, but at the time tickets were ever so slightly out of my price range!
What's just gutting though is that I had feeder tickets for last friday night at Brighton, and they couldn't continue the gig after a couple of songs because Grant had a throat infection (http://www.feederweb.com) - these things happen, but the most annoying thing is that the rescheduled gig isn't on a Friday night, meaning that I'll probably not be able to go... )o: |
