Frustrating error of mic & music

Hullo,
sorry to rant on with the same problem, but i took my time and read lots of posts concerning this issue and none seemed to help my problem. I wanna use my mic while playing background music. My listeners tell me that the music is fine (when the DSP has Winamp set under the Input Device combo box but when I switch it to Soundcard Input then all they hear is the mic but they cannot hear the music, only a deafening background noise.

Winamp is 2.81, DSP plugin is 1.9.0 with a Sqrsoft Advanced Crossfading 1.75 and this latter plugin has the Shoutcast DSP set as its secondary level DSP plugin.

The mixer panel is set as many have previously said, volume/wave/linein/mic set in the playback window and stereo mix/linein/mic set in the recording window with stereo mix checked in and selected. Still nothing happens.

What do I screw up?

Cheers.

Something's not right with your mixer settings. Use the built-in Windows Sound Recorder while playing some MP3s on the PC (not necessarily streaming) and play around with the mixers. Once you get it to come out right in Sound Recorder, it will work in Winamp in "soundcard mode"

Sorry - that's the best suggestion I have.
