Some problems occured when streaming
After installation, I have found a few problems.
On my end, everything seems to work fine, I think. But, I have asked two people to click on my link, and they said, that they couldn't get the stream. Another friend said, "Page cannot be displayed." I clicked on the link myself, and it worked. The IP address is... http://192.168.2.27:8000/listen.pls Also, when I did click the link to hear my stream, it only went for about 30-35 seconds before disconnecting and restarting the stream again. I don't know if this helps, but here is the log from the server. ******************************************************************************* ** SHOUTcast Distributed Network Audio Server ** Copyright (C) 1998-2004 Nullsoft, Inc. By the way, it's not for streaming at the moment, as I have 'Killed the server' for the time being. If you want any more information you can contact me through MSN, AIM or Yahoo, and if you want me to re-start the server, I'll do so. Thanks, |

two simple things
the 192 ip is only real on your pc and not for the outside www.whatismyip.com for your real ip ( if you forwarded the ports correctly it should work than for the outside) source dropped connection --> something isn't working smoothly, what do you use to feed the dnas server ? if you are on winamp(recommended) and you don't feed the source mp3 files it will act like this. switching to soundcard might do the trick here. |

Ok, Thanks.
Now where about's would I put me "real" IP address... 216.183.149.30? In the Shoutcast Source? Or in the Shoutcast DNAS Config? If so, where about's in the DNAS Config? Because, I added my "real" address into the Shoutcast Source, and it doesn't work. It won't connect. However, my computer IP address, 192.168.2.27 works. When I streamed it, and added my real IP address in the URL, "http://216.183.149.30:8000/listen.pls" it didn't come through for me, or isn't supose to? Would it only be for outsiders then? |

gives me nothing. so you either didn't forward the ports right or you are not streaming in the dsp plug ( note--> not the dnas) you fill in localhost or 127.0.0.1 and nothing else. it could well be that your modem/router isn't having a local loopback function, meaning you can't connect to your own stream using the real ip adress |

In the DSP plug, I just recently put "localhost", but I did have it as 192.168.2.27
I tried it again, and this is what the logfile was for the Shoutcast server. ******************************************************************************* ** SHOUTcast Distributed Network Audio Server ** Copyright (C) 1998-2004 Nullsoft, Inc. Now, my firewall is disabled and I believe Internet sharing is too. I'm not quite sure. How would I be able to disable NAT and ISP cashe. Where do I go into to change it on a Windows XP. Would it be in Control Panel --> Internet and Network Connections. I'm having trouble trying to exactly pin-point it on here. If you want the DNAS configuration, I'll give it to ya. By the way, how and where do I forward the ports? I'm think I know, but wanna be sure. Thanks. |
