Not a bug. That's overlay rendering.

What it does is tell the graphics card to replace all instaces of color X (the background color of the video window) with the image.

Because this is done at the hardware level, any screenshot you take will display the color, not the video. Thus, when you move the video window behind the screenshot of the video window, the graphics card sees the pixels of color X and replaces them with the video stream.

You ususally don't notice this effect because the video stream only occupies a small space and you generally do not have other windows on top of the video window.

Why'd you post in bug reports, then?

But this isn't a place to post "this isn't a bug". The developers know this. This is a place to post actual bugs.

but this can be fixed if you make a running process that disables SysRq while viewing the video. then tell it to replace all instaces of color X (the background color of the video window) with the image in the Windows operating system in the pixels by pixels area of the film.

definitely not a bug since it's how overlays work and always have done. even if it is possible to work around this 'quirk' i wouldn't bother pestering the already pushed dev team to even bother with it since it's pointless really.

1) it's not a bug so it does not belong in there
2) having moderator access makes it very easy to do so
3) don't shout by typing in capitals

The point of overlay mode is so Windows DOESN'T render the video.

If you don't like it, disable Overlay mode under the video prefrences.
