its a feature, not restricted to minimise but close & shade too
![]() altho i have noticed it on the very odd occasion when refreshing skin, normally closing winamp and restarting fixes it |

Really?, I've never seen that before.
I've just spent the last two weeks perfecting an animation that runs on my min/shade/close buttons as well, didn't notice any funkiness with them.... Any 3rd party plugs installed by any chance? |

I had it too a few days ago, they suddenly stopped working. Restarting Winamp worked out for me.

Well, you still haven't answered the question I asked you twice...

Well i got no 3-rd party thingies... i didn't even downloaded any yet...
My computer worked okay with the last winamp version (5.12) so my hardware cant be the problem... Question: Does "Votex" skin makes any critical changes for Winamp? |

having worked okay previously and NOW are two different things.
It could be as stupid as something you recently installed. be it a critical update to your OS or some random peice of software.. Really, think back.. Have you installed ANYTHING since before this problem came up. I would also do a check of your computer for any virus's or spybots, as thier netorious for wreaking things so subtly that windows ignores it but things like winamp n such will catch. |

If so, where are you system specs? Hijack This log? List of all plugins installed? Seriously if you want help solving your problem stop with the 'it worked before and now it dosn't' lines and start giving up information that might actually help people to help you. |

Okay... sinse you sure my system specs are so important...
Pentium III 866 MHz. 256 mb RAM Windows Xp Pro SP2 Full Winamp installation v 5.12 No custom or downloaded plugins installed. Since the problem only one error message appeared: "Error updating DB file on disk. This should never really happen Hit Retry to try again (recomended), or Cancel to abort (NOT recomended, and may leave the DB in an unuseable state)" Problem is gone for a while after deleting studio.xnf and back again. Unsuccessfully installed votex skin. That's all i had to say... any more info needed?

Hijack This log?
List of all plugins installed? Instructions on how to get those are included within the post above, including links to hijackthis and a gen purpose plugin that will output all the loaded plugins you have, you'd be amazed at how many people insist they have no 3rd party plugins or that their system is clean when it eventually turns out that it isn't, the tech support forums are full of people who say that. Have you also tried a full clean uninstall/re-install, procedure listed in the same link above. |

I'm not mad, I'm trying to stress the importance of giving as much information as possible when you have an issue with winamp, quite often it's something totally unconnected to winamp itself, you could have installed something else on your system that has silently installed a 3rd party plugin without you knowing, gen_nomad.dll is the best example of a silent install plug that got installed because of some other program that wreaked havoc on peoples winamp installs.
The only way for people to help you is if you help them by giving as much information as possible in the first place. That way you'll get a clear and often correct response instead of people second guessing what might or might not be causing your problems. Your lucky to have posted here, if you'd made a similar request up in Tech support without any relevant information your post would have been ignored from the off. |
