Can't get my mac to stream with Shoutcast week 4
Hey. team. I need a little help getting my mac to work using shoutcast with Scream for OS.
I've set the configurations for the server. 1. The first thing I open is Scream 2. I click on (shoutcast) lable at the top of the screen next to the edit button. 3. The drop down opens and I select (start server). 4. Two boxes appear , one is tittled( Sc_serv) and it looks like this: ******************************************************************************* ** SHOUTcast Distributed Network Audio Server ** Copyright (C) 1998-2004 Nullsoft, Inc. All Rights Reserved. ** Use "sc_serv filename.ini" to specify an ini file. ******************************************************************************* [conf] Couldn't find /Applications/shoutcast-1-9-5-macosx 2/sc_serv.conf & -- assuming defaults Event log: <01/23/06@22:20:14> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/MacOS_X v1.9.5 (Dec 27 2004) starting up... <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] pid: 309 <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] loaded config from /Applications/shoutcast-1-9-5-macosx 2/sc_serv.conf & <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] initializing (usermax:32 portbase:8000)... <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban) <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip) <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] opening source socket <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] source thread starting <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] opening client socket <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] Client Stream thread [0] starting <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] client main thread starting <01/23/06@22:20:14> [main] dns thread starting <01/23/06@22:20:14> [source] listening for connection on port 8001 <01/23/06@22:21:36> [sleeping] 0 listeners (0 unique) The other box is titled : ( Bash) and it looks like this: Last login: Mon Jan 23 22:19:59 on ttyp1 Welcome to Darwin! Hi,
First thing would be to make sure the application is located where it says "Couldn't find /Applications/shoutcast-1-9-5-macosx 2/sc_serv.conf & -- assuming defaults" -> make sure all of these paths and names match your system set-up. Second - try to set up shoutcast on a different port than 8000, maybe try 8100 or 8101 - maybe something is already using 8000. And if you change this you will need to change your port forwarding in your router. Third - just play from iTunes. --- post how it goes --- I have a Mac but do not run shoutcast on it.... curious to see how it goes. --------------------------------------------------- StreamFinder.com - Add your radio station to our free directory - get more exposure and listeners |
