How is one supposed to distinguish between that and what that was added? Could you at least add a coloured 'new' next to them or a *, something...

Bleh. What do you want? Blood? :-p
I assume that you're referring to my main post... All I've added to it today are the Online Services section, and the related Known Bug underneath. I also added in_wave bug (at end of Known Bugs section) a bit earlier on, and the Error Feedback section yesterday (or maybe the day before that). |

with the new build i can see alot more of my songs on my Zen. Instead of missing half of them I'm only missing like 5 which I still am really OCD about but i can deal I guess. Also it takes a good minute or so longer than the prev build to recognize the thing

Did you all read DJ Egg's elaboration on the ml_online plugin (3rd or so post on page 1)?
Good to hear that the "look for new channels on exit" is gone. EDIT: Benski --> the one and only DJ Egg eeeee eeeeeee eeeee eeeee eeeee 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 88 8eee8 8e 8 8 8eee8 8e 8 8 8 88 8 88 8 8 88 8 88 8 8 8 88 8 88 8 8 88 8 88 8 8eee8 Last edited by amano; 10th February 2006 at 23:43. |

Great to see the IE7 bug fixed, it would have been pretty naive to just assume it being a bug with IE7 and not the use of it by winamp, especially as other builds had no problem with it.
Ive noticed the ML skinning seems to have improved, ML_tree used to get a log of artifacts when using the scrollbar to scroll the tree-vie,w which seems fixed now. However I think there seems to still be a bug with ML_IPC_SKIN_LISTVIEW When skinning a list view thats not in 'detail' mode. ie. Click the "L" in ml_tree to switch to a simple list view. It looks like the skinning hook is not painting the area where the column headers would go. This isn't a problem for most plugins in the library as they use detail view, but I cant seem to work around it to display in the list view mode. Itd be great to get this fixed, seeing as it looks like some work has been done in this area recently. |

A few odds and ends.
e music bundle is installed unless it is switched off every time, i.e. previous setting not honoured. Shoutcast radio - rogue dialogue box if 'Station Name' column is reordered. aac streams not always showing metadata in Station Info. Hang or crash when loading any file wrongly named .aac No info written to Rip & Burn screen. Are these just placeholders ATM. [edit] Search box editing in Online services, delete key not working. I cannot start any of the online services:
it gives me an internet explorer script error (translated from german): Quote:

@ujay
The emusic checkmark is by design, heh. The wrongly named .aac issue is known, though not sure what's being done about it. I can't repro the Rip & Burn issue, though I'm not sure if I understood you properly there. The sc radio "clicked" dialog box was just some debug code which'll be gone for the next build. @ujay & amano As stated in my main post on page 1, any other ml_online issues (script errors, problems with the search, etc etc) are all serverside. Online Services is a work in progress. Welcome to beta world :-) Though yeah, amano, it could be some issue with your wininet.dll, who knows...? @dhead998 Sorry, but we cannot reproduce the "?????" problem, at least not unless you provide us with all the required info and reproduction steps (eg. windows os & locale, file formats being played, whether they contain any unicode chars in the filename or tags, relevant winamp settings, etc etc). We also can't reproduce the crash on exit (I tested it on Win98SE, and no crash, heh). Zip up and attach hijackthis log, my_plugin_list.txt, dxdiag log, and crash logs to your next post in this thread (further info). |

I can't repro the Rip & Burn issue, though I'm not sure if I understood you properly there.
The screen shows the Drive buttons under 'Available drives'(these work fine) and the labels in the right panes, but no info. I'll do a screenshot. --------------------------------------------- Great new 'feature' in Online Services now it's gone serverside btw, hope it doesn't get screwed in later versions. Potential problem could be when more channels are added perhaps. .../Winamp/Plugins/ml/ml_online.ini Delete the last line and replace with :- (Adjust Element numbers accordingly) ElementID7=7000 ElementSubbed7=1 ElementName7=Shoutcast Home ElementURL7=http://www.shoutcast.com ElementID8=8000 ElementSubbed8=1 ElementName8=UK & Irish Radio ElementURL8=http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/ ElementID9=9000 ElementSubbed9=1 ElementName9=Winamp Forums ElementURL9=http://forums.winamp.com/ ElementID10=-1 UJ |

Install & run both of Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware SE (be sure to download the internal detection updates for both before running the scans). There's some adware/malware in your HJT log, particularly these dodgy DPF/ActiveX Controls: O16 - DPF: {64311111-1111-1121-1111-111191113457} - file://c:\eied_s7.cab O16 - DPF: {33331111-1111-1111-1111-611111193457} - file://c:\ex.cab O16 - DPF: {33331111-1111-1111-1111-611111193458} - file://c:\ex.cab O16 - DPF: {33331111-1111-1111-1111-622221193458} - file://c:\ex.cab O16 - DPF: {43331111-1111-1111-1111-611111195622} - file://c:\ex.cab O16 - DPF: {1D4DB7D2-6EC9-47A3-BD87-1E41684E07BB} - http://ak.imgfarm.com/..../funwebproducts/ei/SmileyCentral... MyWebSearch is also reputed to be a bit dodgy, and I recommend that you uninstall it via Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Apparently, iBest/Discador is legit, though according to the HJT log, BHO.DLL is missing (O2 - BHO: IbestBHO Class...) You can checkmark those entries in the HJT scan results and click "Fix checked". Make sure all browser/explorer/email/etc windows are closed first, and only checkmark/fix the entries I referred to above, ie. keep all the other (safe/legit/required) entries as they are. After running the Ad-Aware & SpybotSD scans and fixing anything they find, reboot and do another clean install of Winamp and only install the components that you actually need, heh. Not sure, but the crash could be related to one of the default plugins (possibly ml_pmp or pmp_*.dll) Do you actually have a portable player? Though it's also very possible that the aforementioned malware was responsible. As for the "?????" issue, apparently someone from AOL QA has also seen this under Win98, but I know I can't reproduce it. It's possibly something to do with your system locale (Portuguese) and Winamp's unicode/international character support, though I'm honestly not rightly sure at the moment. "(lol, true old pc)" Yup, it is a bit, heh. (P2/350MHz, 128RAM, onboard graphics, win98, DirectX 9.0b) |

folder name problem
my atf settings is
[|$num(%tracknumber%,2)| ][ |%year%| ]$if2( %album% - , %folder% - )$if2(%title%,$filepart(%filename%))[ - %artist%]. metadata readeing settings is checked "read media infomation on import...." and checked "no guessing." here is the problem details. if i add files that have no tags such as wave, avi, etc to media library, those files title are named like "folder - file name." so, when i play those files, winamp displays like "folder - folder - filename." very annoying. ![]() reproducable? xp sp2 clean installed 5.2 b427 + jtfe97r b14 [edit] @coldKingdom87 tested with avi files, i cannot reproduce your problem, both default classic and modern skin. |

This isn't really a bug, but...
If you go to preferences, then in_mp3.dll > Configure, the default extension list has 'MP3;MP2;MP1;AAC;APL;VLB', but next to the 'set to default' button, it has 'MP3;MP2;MP1;AAC;APL'. It's missing ;VLB. |

Are there planned other winamp 5.2 installer languages? I've been making winamp lang pack for a long time and I can make slovak localization too if possible (or needed ).thx. |

Suggestion :
Option to disable mousewheel support for controlling the volume. Bugs : Winamp build 427 > Nullsoft Tray Control v0.2 > Position of the 'previous track' & 'next track' should be swapped in the systray. Winamp build 427 > Nullsoft Tray Control v0.2 > Click 'Play/Pause' > Next track is played Winamp build 427 > Nullsoft Tray Control v0.2 > Click 'Next Track' > Plays or Pauses the current track Winamp build 427 > Preferences > CD Ripping > Select aacPlus High Bitrate encoder > Winamp Pro Feature dialog box show up > It says 'In Order to extract to MP3'. Winamp build 427 > Play a .m4a file with muxed chapters and jpg's (using mjpeg codec) > Chapters and jpg's aren't being displayed. The .jpg's are being displayed with Videolan VLC, WMP (with Haali Media Splitter installed) and TCMP 0.71k (Windows Mobile app). Example file : http://radio538.podcast.garnierstrea...department.m4a Winamp build 427 > Uninstall > This file isn't removed : C:\Program Files\Winamp\System\xml.w5s Winamp build 427 > Media Library > SHOUTcast Wire > Add this url http://radio538.nl/538/xml/rss/dancedepartment.jsp > Only the first podcast episode is being displayed (there are 22 atm). Winamp build 427 > Media Library > Portables > My HP iPAQ rx3715 Pocket PC isn't being displayed. It should be Playsforsure compatible. Winamp build 427 > Media Library > Predixis MusicMagic > Start processing > Exit Winamp > winamp caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module ml_xpdxs.dll at 001b:05e5da4a Last edited by colorspace; 11th February 2006 at 13:24. |

Sorry if my english is bad, I'm french
The two Easter Eggs are found on the french forum by Zobicket38. => Shift + Double Click on the lama => Ctrl + Double Click on the lama ___ The new beta doesn't work with the plug-in transcoder. When I select more than one file, Winamp shut down after the first file is converted. I can send you screenshots of you need it. pihug12

the shift+dbl click egg has been in for years.
the ctrl+dbl click one is a different image from what was in the earlier 5.09x versions. the transcoder plugin is known to have issues and it is down to the plugin to be updated but since will is busy (and i'm snowed under) someone else is going to have to look into making it compatible with 5.2 or just wait it out. -daz |

I think I found a Milkdrop problem.
Open Milkdrop fullscreen with a song playing. Then open Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete), and Milkdrop will minimize, correct? Pause with the song that is playing (Global Hotkey is useful), then click on the minimized Milkdrop on the taskbar. It will open, but a large box will just fill the screen and the visualisation will not actually start. Can anyone else confirm? |

What happens when you restart playback?
Milkdrop needs music playing to draw anything. |

When you install Winamp, the installer changes the cwd value in the [Winamp] section of winamp.ini back to the installation directory. This is the last directory used for open/add. This means I have to browse to my MP3 directory every time I update Winamp! Please can you change the installer to leave this alone.
I'm not sure if this occurs when installing versions prior to 5.2; apologies if so. Also, please can you change the installer to close Winamp and Winamp Agent when installation is actually started (i.e. when you click on 'Install' in the last step of the installer), rather than as soon as you run the installer? If you run it by mistake and so cancel, you're left without the agent. Thanks. |

Re: Tray Control issues. Hmm, I can't reproduce all 3 reported issues, but I can see some funkiness with the Previous button. Sometimes it works, but most times it just restarts the currently playing track (ie. it acts the same as 'play'). Note: gen_tray.dll is probably one of the oldest plugins around, heh. Could you (or anyone else) please confirm if those issues are 5.2-specific, or if it also happened with older releases (5.0-5.13)? Re: Pop-up message for AACPlus Hi-Bitrate Enc on non-Pro installations: Thanks. That probably needs changing. Re: mjpeg in mp4 files Alas, that is currently unsupported. in_mp4 only handles audio content at the moment, not video or embedded images. Then again, I can't get the image to display even when I associate mp4/m4a with in_dshow instead of in_mp4, heh. But yeah, in_mp4 video (etc) support is planned for a later release. Re: xml.w5s not removed on uninstall Thanks. Yup, that's a pretty new file (used to be part of gen_ff). Re: sc wire not correctly parsing some feeds Yup, that's a known issue. Those feeds use a different xml format which is currently not fully supported. Hopefully, work on ml_wire will resume again at some point, but probably after 5.2 release. Re: predixis crash Please report any issues with the musicmagic plugin directly to predixis Re: HP iPAQ rx3715 Pocket PC not being recognized Sorry, no idea, heh. @mrym Hmm, I need more coffee before I look into that ATF issue of yours. Watch this space [maybe]. @Squadman Re: vlb extension vlb is supported by the dolby aac decoder inside in_mp3 However, I don't even think we use it for much any more (maybe some nsv/nsa streams) and I think the general intention is to eventually switch everything over to the CT AAC Decoder and totally ditch the Dolby one, and therefore VLB will be gone. |
