Connecting and querying via ODBC

Hi guys

ODBC question. I've used a useful function in the wiki to list the available ODBC databases on the local machine. That's great. What I need to be able to do is connect to the selected database via ODBC and then send query strings to it.

I've seen http://nsis.sourceforge.net/ODBC_Manager and while it's potentially helpful, it also seems to be the least documented thing in the world, and since I'm quite new to ODBC stuff, I'm a bit stuck.

Anyone know how I can do this using that plugin, or is there a better way?

Thanks!
