Can you use a different port on shoutcast dns server than 8000 and 8001?

Can you use a different port on shoutcast dns server than 8000 and 8001? casue i have a message that says:

First off check your config file. If you put an IP address in DestIP= and/or SrcIP= then take those out and leave it at ANY. This setting is normally only used if you are a service provider running multiple servers and have multiple IP's. This is likely causing your error.

You can of course use any port for the server so long as it's not being used by anything else.

PortBase=8000 just change that.
Also, might want to change your password now.

fyi: not that am going to do it (because I have better things to do with my time), but when there is a will, there is ALYWAS a way. Now, who would want to go after an independant 'caster is well beyond me .... but then again, to cover my ass I use Libranet Linux!!!!

Everything is the same but i still have the same problem!

your still having the same problem too, well one of these guys know the trick to this hole thing, if there is someone that had the same problem like us that maybe they can just tell us if they know how to opean the right ports using XP or if we missed something in the Audio Server configuration that needs to be changed then please just let us know. and no web site cause everone's computer is not the same.

if the problem is still some other process using that port, then you still got instances of dnas running. Remember, clicking that damn 'x' in the cornet does not shutdown the server ... if dnas is not running, then look in the task manager of other threads still running that were not killed (sometimes dnas does not exit well).

then you have set something else up to run on this port. change the ports in the config file. Make sure the port used is greater than 1024.
