Hey.
I know I will sound like a complete idiot but I'm new to this. My shoutcast server (running on windows), will only broadcast LOCALLY. Ie. http://localhost:8000 and not http://12.34.45.67:8000. Any idea what the problem is? Any help apreciated

If you have no errors in the log, have you set your DSP to be Public?
If yes, check your DNAS config file for the PublicServer value and post in here |

well we really cant check to see if its puplic because you want it locally, in the DSP uncheck the "make this station puplic" or something similar to that and it will only broadcast to your ip, change the ip to your LAN address and only people in your LAN will hear it

Sorry but i think i am a bit noob here..
IS it this want you ment with the DNAS config file for the PublicServer value ? TitleFormat=Åndelig Nettverk: %s ; URLFormat specifies a format string for what url is sent to the listener. ; Behaves like TitleFormat (see above). ; The default is no format string. ; URLFormat=http://www.aandelignett.org ; PublicServer can be always, never, or default (the default, heh) ; Any setting other than default will override the public status ; of the source plug-in or of a SHOUTcast server that is being relayed. PublicServer=default ; AllowRelay determines whether or not other SHOUTcast servers will be ; permitted to relay this server. The default is Yes. AllowRelay=Yes ; AllowPublicRelay, when set to No, will tell any relaying servers not ; to list the server in the SHOUTcast directory (non-public), provided ; the relaying server's Public flag is set to default. The default is ; Yes. AllowPublicRelay=Yes ; MetaInterval specifies how often, in bytes, metadata sent. ; You should really leave this at the default of 8192, but the option is ; provided anyway. MetaInterval=8192 ; |

@Dantien
Thanks - that's a perfect logfile. Don't touch anything! It's working. However, it can take up to 15 minutes or more to become visible in the SHOUTcast directory. So give it time. Ther reason you can't tune in using http://12.34.45.67:8000 is probably because your router doesn't allow you to do U-turns. Bring your station up again, and after you see the YP add message, post here or ask a friend at another location to try and connect to your stream. |
