Multiple WinAmp Processes open up, No WinAmp

Running 5.2 for 2 weeks, no major issues...

nothing added last night, all running perfect...

Trying to start Winamp this morning...

Winamp.exe process of 9,268k shows up in Windows Task Manager as soon as XP is started...

Try to run Winamp from normal Icon, another winamp.exe process of 2,432k shows up in Windows Task Manager....IF you clicked the icon 10 times, winamp.exe 2432k would start 10 times...

But, you guessed it, no winamp!

Any thoughts?

Basic question: are you opening Winamp minimized? If you opted not to show winamp in taskbar or tray and opened Winamp minimized then you'd only see it in the task manager.

Note..This WinAmp.exe starts on its own as soon as you boot to XP...Even tho I have Agent disabled..

Note also, that I cannot close the initial 9,268k WinAmp.exe that opens up.

I can close any of the 2k WinAmp.exe files that I open...

Does this persist after a clean install? Note: Please install only the features you know you'll be using. Refer to this component list if needed.

Also, look at your Start > Programs > Startup. If there's a media file associated with Winamp in that folder then Winamp will load at startup.

My apologies....My Bad....

This happened to be a major XP issue on a logoff vs shut down issue...

Hung processes was holding up everything, WinAmp was just the most glaring and obvious because I was trying to use it..

After a power down and reboot, all is back to norm...

My apologies, AOL/Nullsoft
