Milk VS Fish: Is true?

Is true that something weird will happen to your body if you eat fish & milk?

Some precautions about preparing meat, fish and dairy products in the same kitchen (no cross contamnation), but I like fish sticks and a glass of milk

I've always wondered why cereal commercials show their cereal as "part of a complete breakfast" with a big glass of milk AND a big glass of orange juice sitting next to the bowl. Don't they know that if you drink milk and orange juice one right after the other that they will react in your stomach? Mixing acids and bases to cause chemical reactions is pretty common knowledge in any middle school science class.

I worked in this cafe a couple of years ago & we had this customer bring back her tea, saying something was wrong with it. It was a fruit tea with orange peel -- turns out when you mix orange & milk you get floaty yogurt. From then on we warned people.

p.s. I love tartar sauce.

Yeah...I was going for a fruit milkshake-type thing, and mixed some whole milk with some Welch's juice.

After about five minutes, the juice curdled the milk a bit, and everything separated. It still tasted fine, but the texture was rather odd.

Yeah, ok, so the proverbial chocolate cake and grapefruit juice, which gives most people a belly ache...?. I think every kid has done that one... I've made fish and clam chowders that were milk based stock, everyone seems to yum them up....so?.

The one that comes to mind is cream of tomato soup. Add the milk slowly and you get cream of tomato soup. Dump it in quick and it turns into curdled tomato yuck.

Another one is hollandaise sauce. Do it right or you get lemon flavored scrambled eggs. I done that one enough times!. I really like it on grilled salmon, so I figured out how to do it.

Braised tilapia is the shit.
  • Pan fry the fish until both sides are slightly brown.
  • Pour in 2 table spoons of soy sauce to the fish. Also add scallions, ginger slices, sugar, cooking wine, vinegar, tomato slices, and tofu. Then add a cup or two of water.
  • Simmer for 5-10 minutes.

A little complicated for this efficiency kitchen, so the only thing I really miss about that cafe job was that we had a chef designing the dishes and some excellent line cooks putting the plates together.

Pete, the head line cook would hold up a platter, with a big proud grin on his face, and say "Please, please put this in your mouth." And when he smiled you knew you were about to taste something you'd never had. Ahhh, Pete!! You were the best, man. I'll never forget that Tilapia.

I dunno, to make a fish chowder you make a roux, so some chemistry?. I'm not sure....

That means you brown the fish (telapia is fine or halibut) (and a little sausage or bacon ) in butter with a little bit of olive oil to keep the butter from burning, then you add a little flour, stir it up until the flour makes a paste, and then you add your milk, spices, cooked potato (nuked works or boiled), onions whatever..

I like saffron (or safflower if you're poor), leek and black pepper.... well whatever you got

Hasn't killed anybody ....

I really don't know what it would do if you just tossed it all in a pot and boiled it....I think it might resemble fish flavored Elmers Glue All though....

Dunno. I don't eat much fish. I don't really like much seafood altogether, actually.

Fish tacos are good.....

http://www.fiery-foods.com/dave/fish...ml#Fish%20Taco

We have mexicans, lots. So we have lots of mexican restaurants. They all have fish dishes. They use a lot of shark or telapia.

You don't need Mexicans to enjoy a fishy taco.

And if things go really well, you'll end up smelling fish all evening without needing the salmon.

I believe the point of this thread was about the negative effects of eating fish and drinkin milk in one meal. From what I've been told by my parents and many relatives - it's true - there ARE negative effects, something about the skin losing its pigmentation? W/e that means, but the results I think will be loss of skin colour.

I was googling this today cos I no longer believe the Indian-FOB theories my parents have been feeding me like if you say snake at night you will have a scary dream LOL.

ROCKS!! Been a user since v2 or somethin

I love fish. I also like macaroni and cheese. I also like to crunch up my fish sticks and mix them up in my mac and cheese. I don't believe eating fish and milk in any combination is harmfull unless either one has been contaminated.

It is well known that milk and fish are composed of opposing particles. Milk is a base, and fish is highly territorial. When fish encounters milk in your stomach, it quickly overcomes the basic fluids.

In essence, all your base are belong to fish.

..ahem. Anyway, from what I've read so far, fish and milk shouldn't do anything but give you a heavy dose of proteins. Either that or, diarrea... :P

Sprite + milk = trouble after a few hours.

I am so important I feel the need to let it be known like a liberal discovering the internets for the first time. Uh hur hur hur. I also wash myself with a rag on a stick.

Milk Vs Fish

I never had problem taking milk and fish, but recently took both in McDonald Fish Fillet + Milk shake about 6-7 times over couple of months, and developed one small white patch in leg. Another child with me who also took also has now even more serious conditions. So I never had this before even when I had both together but all of a sudden it erupted. Also added was little longer exposure to outdoor in sun on certain days. So it's some combination that causes this.
