Surely there must be a way to thin out the Eqalizer slider background to let more of a picture show through. Anybody got any suggestions? Puhleaze!! I'm eatin' out of a garbage can here!

Yeah this would be good (since Skinner makes the eq bars HUGE)
None of my skinner efforts will ever get posted, so ye who like it not shall remain happy.

Those are pretty small, but I think he meant it'd be good if the BMP coresponding to them was smaller. It's better illustrated on a skin that actually has stuff behind the EQ bars.

Yep. Iomegajaz has it. Is there a way to do it, or is that a config file winamp doesn't allow the skinner to alter?

In my intensive study of the winamp skin prior to designing skin master, and making my own skins I tried to figure out the entire thing, and if anything could be done to trick the gui. IE make sliders narrower.

And on this point the answer is no, there is noway to make them look thinner, you're stuck I'm afraid. Sorry.

Just a thought...If your really desperate to see the picture behind the eq. You can simply "replace" the eq with a picture. Some skinner posted a skin called "Cute Brittany" or something like that. He replaced the eq main.bmp with a simple 275 x 116 pixel picture. This however makes the EQ unable to be used. Not really sure if this is a big deal if you have everything already preset...haven't tried it yet...hmmm...I'll be right back!

Certainly NOT what I would consider a three star skin.

Excellent work. Add another download to your tally.
This looks incredible on an all black background.

Just checkin back - If you use just a 275x116
pixel pic as your eq main.bmp the eq will be functional but invisible. (You can only tell what you're modifying by looking in the track window). This would mean if you had tracks set up on autoload presets, all's well anyway (you've already got the perfect eq level - and if it aint broke...) I know the people that rate the skins don't like invisible buttons, but if your skin is to show off a picture (your family, your girlfriend, your favorite playmate, your chess club, etc.) it works for me

Well thanks alot for your advice people. The fact of the matter is I do want the sliders and buttons to be functional as well as visible. What I don't understand is if the buttons are still functional but invisible, then couldn't you just go in to the eqmain bitmap and change the face of the buttons? This dilemna all started when I used skinmaster and skinned the whole thing.main and eqmain. The skinner used the preamp slider background as a default or something which in turn made the rest of the eq slider backgrounds the same. The problem was not the background, but the fact that the bitmap in the slider background was too thick. As a matter of fact, skinmaster changed the color of my original bitmap when I skinned winamp. To the naked eye the color change was minimal and could barely be seen. That is until I started editing and tweeking here and there. But that's another story. The eq is what I am tickling my brain with right now. I also have a format I'm working on for the region.txt. Hopefully I'll get done with it soon and maybe someone can use it. Anyway thanx for the tips all.

Keep On Skinning!!!!
