The DSP plugin can use WINAMP as the source, this means if you are playing mp3 audio then the DSP picks this up and sends it to the DSP which connects to the server.

When you use soundcard input, every sound on your PC. E.g. email, IM, errors etc are picked up by the DSP and sent to the server. So with that in mind since ventrilo is creating the audio viola winamp picks that up in soundcard input mode and the DSP does the rest.

I would suggest you turn off the chatroom notifcation beeps in ventrilo otherwise that too is broadcast.

If you wanted to leave it with soundcard input, you could open another copy of winamp and play MP3 files (no DSP on the 2nd instance of Winamp).

The screen gets a bit cluttered with 2 winamps, ventrilo and whatever apps you have ruuning.

Good luck with this.

One thing that sucks about using the soundcard input is that title streaming will no longer work.

yup unless you use another software tool to modify the title.
