broadcast timing

Hi, bit of a newbie question, hope you can help. I've got everything set up & can recieve my station through Winamp. I have read & understand that it can take an hour or so to be listed, which is fair enough, but does this mean everytime i do a show will i have to connect for an hour or so before being seen on the lists & being able to go live? Or does this delay only apply for initial new station uptake by yellow pages. Any clarification on this would be great. Cheers in advance
