Hello,

I can't read the stickies. I want a step by step tutorial with pictures, actually I'd just prefer you did all the work for me.

Thanks in advance,

Peruvian.

Thanks for the lead !!

Hello Inedible Bulk,

Now I got a lead and I really appreciate it. Perhaps you could advise me how to contact a professional with experience that could avoid me to read those topics and install the required tools into my server.

I am the CEO (also the author) of an antivirus developing company and some other IT business and would not like to spend time invetigating since at present I am quite busy.

Any suggestions?

Regards from Peru.

Actually Grizebar was trying to explain what was said, not make comments against you.

What exactly are you wanting to do with your stream ?

TV ON LINE INSTALLATION

Hello sankt,

As I said in my first post I'm a newbie in music and video online.

I am an antivirus developer since 1986 and CEO of my own company. Besides that I run some other IT activities like importing and selling surveillance IP camera systems and partnership with a VoIP company.

So, I want to run a business on the web in order to offer both a radio and a TV station online.

I have the time to read the instructions in order to find out myself what I should need in order to get what I pretend to get but I think could save time if perhaps in this forum there are some people with knowlegment and experience that could do the job for me and get paid for.

I have two Linux dedicated servers in HOSTWAY.COM (USA) and one Microsoft Server 2003 in Peru.

If someone is interested can send me a PM.

Regards,

Exactly. I despise people do not treat others with respect. Your question was perfectly clear, but the response from Bulkhead was uncalled for, and I felt compelled to respond in kind.
I apologise for any misunderstanding.

Don't worry. Anyone can make a mistake. We're human beings and imperfect.

I think the idea of this Forum is to exchange ideas, projects, answering requests, helping each other.

That's the only way we all can grow up.

You can count on me on Internet Data Security like it for instance,

Regards to all you guys and let's keep on going.

Jorge: I didn't know you ran so many internet websites. I can see you are a busy man.

If you could elaborate on what features you would like to have, then I could see if I could do it. However, if I do it I will charge a fee, but you will get continued support for 15 days after I do my setup. I don't know if the other guy who posted he would do it has such a gurantee, nor the ability to touchtype.

Grizebar: Are you an old member on a new account? I'm trying to remember your old account name.

Hello Inedible Bulk,

Of course I would like to have a professional work with guarantee of support and that kind of job obvioulsy must be honored and paid.

In spite of I am a good programmer (MS Computer Science) my software PER Antivirus turned me into a successful businessman thru the years and I must dedicate time to my family.

Money is not happiness but helps a lot to get it.

I keep on growing since a man should never stop. I am from Peru but studied in the states and besides knowledge I learned to be efficient and never be satisfied with my job.

We people involved into the Information Technologies and Communications (TIC) must be updating every day otherwise we will run out of the market.

What I have for this project is a Linux dedicated server with PHP and MySQL, also Front Page extensions.

I will developed the website in Joomla (open source) and the video streaming and tools should be in folder (that should be your job) unles you give me a better suggestion.

Nobody is the owner of the truth but the logics.

Please send me a quotation by email to:

PER SYSTEMS S.A.
Att.: Jorge Machado
jmachado@persystems.com
http://www.persystems.net

I can pay you with bank wire transfer or thru a SSL payment gateway.

Do you have a website?

Best regards,

I do have a website, but I must seriously consider what I am getting myself into before following through. If you do in fact get an email, please come back to this thread and send me a PM by clicking the PM link below to ensure the e-mail actually did come from me. I would not want someone claiming they are me to do a slipshod job or anything. If you get someone else who isn't me and they are experienced, I have no problem if you go with them instead. While I do know what I am doing, I'm not absolutely sure I know exactly what you want.

Have you content? Have you encoded it yet, or do you want me to do that too? Or, do you plan on a live stream showcasing your antivirus team hard at work on writing a cure for the latest IN THE WILD viruses?

Feel free to PM this information to me, or, if you like, post it here in the open. That's up to you.

I've been active on so many forums, both as member and moderator that I've lost track of my old accounts. It's possible I've here before, and I use the same nick in many places. I just joined up last week, so that would make me a Noob, but I see I've move up one notch in the hierachy.
Also, congratulations on your new found civility and tactful way you handled this gentleman's question. That's a step in the right direction. From the moment I started reading these forums, I was appalled by the rudeness and discourtesy of it's moderators, which does not speak well of the forum nor the product support itself and does not in the least help those who come here for assistance. Maybe things will change, but some people just need to get their butts kicked sometimes.

Guessing you followed my homepage link.

Search the term on these forums, it used to be an alternative YP.

One way or another, I think you will have to do your homework to set up video and audio streaming. Like was said, this is not a passive endeavor.

NSVTV is very beta and has if, buts, candy and nuts. I'm not sure having someone set this up for you will be a good deal in the long term. You'll need to know how to keep things running, how to do the encoding etc.

I doubt there really is a substitute for doing your homework.

If you didn't need the dubious promotional value of being included in the shoutcast YP directory, videolan might be a better solution.

I have abandoned shoutcast TV for various reasons. Mostly that it is cheaper to buy advertising for my video site than to provide tremendous amounts of bandwidth that the YP will suck out of your servers, with no web page hits.

At one time, Winamp had some promotional value with it's YP for broadcasters, but that time has passed. Basically, I can promote my sites much better with $100 paid to Google, than giving $100 in bandwidth to the YP.

example station in my sig.

Global Movies and TV

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to hide the bodies of people who pissed me off.

Good points. Most of the TV stations using SHOUTcast servers that I've seen are of very poor quality, due to the limited bandwidth avaliable.

If this guy really is professional I could easily hook him up with the servers at ok-ish costs for bandwidth (i know people) and even take a monthly payment to be the on-call stream helper guy. That would turn it into a definate professional endeavour, but it would also make it expensive like a professional endeavour usually is.

But if it paid enough that I could quit my shitty job then I would be all up ons!
