Assistance Requested

Hello I am in Jamaica and I have just gotten into to idea of shoutcast. I have installed everything necessary however when I did attempt to connect I recieve these statements.

I Went to the forums to research the issues but have come up with no concrete solution. You help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance

I had already been to that site and the subsequent sites there after portforward.com etc. I think I opened to ports but the result has not changed

Do you have a firewall?

Allow winamp through it.

Well the error is that yp.shoutcast.com, the web server that tries to list your stream information is not able to connect to your stream server directly.

POssible causes

1- Internet provider blocking service or ports used by shoutcast
2- Local firewall on PC
3- Port forwarding is not setup correctly or just not working on the router.
4- Wrong address was used in the configuration file.


Check your sc_serv.ini or sc_serv.conf file to SrcIP and DestIP address, leave it set up as ANY.

Now test it on the PC, while sc_serv is running open a command prompt ( start -> run -> cmd ) then type
netstat -an |find "800"

It should list 8000 and 8001 if it does its a good thing, if it does not list 8000 and 8001 then you have a firewall blocking it.

Now double check that your router is setup correctly, a real good walk through for most routers can be found at http://www.portforward.com
