Winamp crashes on ratings sync
Using: Winamp 5.23
ml_ipod: 1.40 4th gen ipod 20gb running Windows XP Pro default winamp ipod plugin not installed (removed automatically by ml_ipod installer) I'm able to transfer files to my ipod and manage them on the ipod, but when I try to manipulate the 'last played' tags on my local (hard drive) media library, the program crashes (Winamp has encountered a problem and needs to close, etc etc, I can post more details from this message if you want, but its the standard windows illegal operation crash). This happens specifically when I try to use the new 'fix corrupted ml last played tags' function or when I use the 'sync ratings from ipod to winamp' function. I suspect the error is in the new code that handles these timestamps Thanks for writing an awesome plugin, guys, I've been using it for a long time with no complaints |

I had a similar problem after upgrading to 5.23. With 5.21, all went well. So I suspect it's Winamp that is buggy.
It seems that there is a problem with the ML database, perhaps some kind of incompatibility. The crash happens whenever ml_ipod tries to alter some data in the ML database, like setting a rating or a timestamp for a ML item. To cure this, I removed all my songs from the library, and then added them newly (scan directories). After that, the error was gone. So I guess that 5.23 can not handle a database written with earlier versions of Winamp correctly. I used the ml_impex (ML Import/Export) plugin to save my ratings etc. first, so I lost nothing in the process. Edit: 5.22 did NOT work, either. So it is some incompatibility between 5.21 and 5.22, that carries on to 5.23

Bug is found, it is caused by Winamp.
For those that are interested in the technical details, see my bug report at http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....58#post1958658 Don't know when that will be fixed, but for now: Stay with 5.21 WinAmp Pro 5.5 with ml_iPod 3.10 + dev.patches (download it) ml_iPod documentation Wiki - ml_iPod FAQ - search ml_iPod forum - iPhone/iTouch - Found a bug?
