do you visit whatsmyip.org via your server or do you just use your browser on your private machine? for me it sounds that it is your ISP-IP and has nothing to do with your server.
if you rent your server host at a big commercial hoster it will never change its IP. if you host your server at home you always have a different IP when you don't have a permanent connection .oO(and which private person has something like this?) |

DavidLopang,
The IP address you are referring to is the IP address of your own computer (i.e. via your home internet connection). Most 'domestic' internet service packages utilise what is referred to as a 'dynamic IP address'. Every time you connect to your internet - your computer is allocated an IP address from a range of addresses. I presume this is what you are talking about. use something like www.no-ip.com or www.dyndns.com to create a dynamic dns name.
run the software that monitors your ip changes and it will point automatically to the dns name. |
