Winamp slow responses...

as Winamp improves..it's performance is slowing down and it is very noticeable in both old and new machines...
can you please check this one so that in future releases you could improve the performance from startup to shutdown...

1) Winamp freezes (you can't click on anything) on a long time basis during:
(a) using explorer startup playback (right click on song in Explorer then "Play in Winamp" is selected (provided Winamp is not yet running).
(b) opening the Preferences then clicking on "Close"/"X" (either you've changed a setting or nothing at all)

2) Winamp shutdowns is taking too long:
(a) basis is on Task Manager. winamp.exe is not removed for a duration of >30 secs. but <45 secs. (refresh rate of Task Manager is twice per second)
(b) Closing Winamp then Shutdown/Restart Windows...Windows is attempting to close winamp.exe then providing option to "End Now"
