What is the actual Bitrate that you are streaming ?

What kind of internet connection is your Shoutcast server using ?

Did you configure your Shoutcast server with a limit on the number of consecutive connections it can support ?

If your stream is "sluggish," aka streaming a little then buffering a little then streaming a little again and so on, it often means the server is using up CPU and can't serve video fast enough.

SSH attacks give me this problem now and then.

I was having a simillar problem with the windows version of shoutcast, the linux version don't have that problem. However I run windows on my servers so I found steamcast which eliminated that problem. www.steamcast.com

It could also be a BANDWIDTH issue too if you're using your public listing to connect to your station.

In other words, if you can only UPLOAD at 128Kbps. max. (Bitrate used for the sake of argument BTW), then you surely aren't gonna be able to stream at 300Kbps. TO ANYONE (including yourself).

Bottom line? If bandwidth is your problem, the solution is to get more of it. It's as simple as that.

Hope this helps

Cheers
