They got the price wrong for pro, though. Still, nice to hear good things about it.

I noticed on download.com's webpage,
they list LimeWire as the number 1 download.
Bet that won't last long now...
The music industry filed a lawsuit against LimeWire yesterday.

The recording industry is asking for compensatory and punitive damages, such as $150,000 for every song distributed without permission.

What I want to know is how they can demand $150,000 for a song that isn't worth more than $1.50 on a full CD... and get away with it.

No shit. Someone should countersue them for extortion.

Racketeering and extortion might be applied.

It's no wonder why so many people pirate music. If they'd charge reasonable prices for music CDs, I bet most people would buy them rather than download illegal copies that are a fraction of the quality in most cases. I know I'd rather have an original CD than just ripped 128k mp3s.

Well if one song is on there and it gets downloaded thousands of times it racks up. So I doubt its close to extortion.

But can they prove how many times it was downloaded? No.

When someone is charged with a $150,000 fine, I'm sure that they'd want more than just "a good guess."

Limewire isn't a torrent client, is it?

Inaccurate method. Just because a person is sharing a file doesn't mean they downloaded it illegally.

Just because I give you some candy doesn't mean someone gave me some to begin with.

yeah, i'm back.
