Is there a DirectShow filter?

Hi guys,

Has anyone written a DirectShow filter for MilkDrop. Is it worth looking into developing my own?

Thanks,

Adam

Our custom media player (Developed in C++) uses DirectShow filters to play all our media. We would need to have a filter that we can plug in to our current setup.

In other words, we need a filter that passes our audio stream to the MilkDrop visualization.

Thanks,
Adam

......ummm i'm thinking no....

it sounds like your trying to port milkdrop over to your player, in witch case.. you might wanna ither start from scratch or use projectM

milkdrop currently gets its audio data from winamp.. so if you wanna get your info into it, your ither gonna have to play the sound data through winamp(line in) or make milkdrop think your winamp... the second one is gonna take a HELL of alot more than a filter.... makes me shiver just thinking about it.

Blah!

Yea Milkdrop grabs it's FFT info/Track Info and such from Winamp. There might be all kindsa weird idiosyncracies. Some of my shading methods don't work in Project M apparently. (From what I have heard from linux users, this might have changed)

Redi is correct, the project M people would most likely be able to answer you're questions better.

If you're putting Milkdrop in another App. I would suggest looking in to using one of the new beta versions.

Eo.S. says you may be talking about making Milkdrop into it's own stand alone app. That would also be interesting for the new Beta versions.
