Playlist Clears when Playing Song From Library
If I have a number of tracks entered and showing on my playlist and I try to play a song from the media library, this song plays, clears the current playlist and shows as the only track in the playlist. Should it not just play and leave the current playlist as it was? Any help?

A song has to be in the playlist editor (the current playlist) so it can be played. At least, that's how it works in Winamp.
You can enqueue the track instead of playing it. In that case the file will be added to the current playlist, instead of replacing it. Right-click the track in ML > Enqueue |

I too am experiencing this little problem. The old winamp let you play one song at a time from the media library without erasing your playlist. Tell me theres an option to stop this.

Was that a feature of Winamp3, maybe? (never really used Winamp3 myself)
As said, you can Enqueue instead of Play to stop the ML from erasing your playlist. Alternately, you can enable JTFE's ML integrations options in Prefs > Jump to File > ML Options tab, which will allow you to 'Add to queue and play' a track via the 'Send to' menu in the Media Library. Which is kind of a combination of enqueue and play. Or perhaps try ActiveWinamp. I believe a script (also accessible via the 'send to' menu) is included that will add the track to the playlist, play it, and remove it from the playlist again. Thus, the file gets played and the playlist remains untouched. I never tried it myself so I'm not sure how well it works. [edit] On second thought, maybe I'm wrong and that script will do something else, namely open the track in a separate Winamp instance. I don't remember exactly... If you're interested you could check it out, or ask in the ActiveWinamp thread. |
