How can i play a jingle during a song?
Hello and HELP!!
The only thing i like to know is how i can play a jingle during a song. I'm an internet DJ, play songs on request and so now and then i like to play a jingle with "Happy Birthday or Specialy for you" or things like that. Now i do it just before the song starts, but that takes to long, so can anyboby tell me how i can do that while the song is playing? Thanks!!! Marchel |

Real radio stations "record" those special mixes ahead of time offline before they play them, similar to the way they present phone-in requests.
In general a special promo'ed version of the track is pre-recorded (you would create an MP3) -- then it is added to the playlist. This is also how most radio DJs add the lead-in / lead-out to songs that state their info -- if you do it right, the transitions can be totally seamless even without crossfading. If you want to do it live -- you'll have to master your WinMixers and do the MIX in real time using soundcard mode. Even though it doesn't seem like it, but in a real radio station, while tracks are playing, the DJ/MC is recording (voice-overing) the next couple of tracks so they are "branded" to the station -- a good idea for SHOUTcast too if you want to discourage ripping. Some of the branding can be generic just for your station and website info, and some can be specific to "right now" like a dedication -- keeping track of them is the real task. It takes far more "work" than dropping unmodified tracks into the WinAMP playlist, but that's why the pros get the big bucks. dbPowerAMP and Audacity (Google 'em) are excellent tools you will need to produce your own branded MP3s. /* v2 HTML5 / Player test pages DigitalMixNYC, DigitalMixNYCbx | DNAS Status: Now Playing js codes (scaststatus_X.php) | PortForward.com | Upload/Download Speed Test | No-IP.com: Free Dynamic DNS | In the YP | dnasDir */ |

I have my jingles on a seperate program such as wavelab (wave editor)and have them on a 5 minute loop or press play when I need them.My soundcard is on stereo mix or what you here so that the music and jingles are both broadcast.
Not very professional but it works for me. |

SAM Broadcaster has jingles built in, which I find work really well.

In winamp, you can open two instances of Winamp, load jingles on one of the instances and your playlist on the other.
That's the way I use to play jingles over a song. |

N cube,
Thats what I do is have my effects, and jingles in one winamp instance and the broadcast in the other. Works great too. ~ D ~ According to the ship's log we're down to our last 3000 vomit bags. It'll never be enough. ![]() search the forums! don't PM me on how-to, or ask me to setup you system. you do it so you learn. |
