For .ape you need the Monkeys Audio package/plugin
www.monkeysaudio.com

Not sure which plugin people use for .shn but SHNAmp is probably the most popular

I think both plugins install automatically when you run the installers.
You should see something like in_ape.dll and in_shn.dll appear in the winamp\plugins folder.
Note you can download & run the installers from any folder.

Thank you again. Another question, again, sorry. Will these programs also let me burn (the files) them in/on my winamp player? Thanks again. Much appreciated.

Alas, that's something I personally don't know the answer to.
(I don't use either of those two formats/plugins).

Anyone else?

I can verify that the shorten plugin won't burn directly. You'll have to convert the files to .wav or some other format first.

save yourself the trouble and get nero and use mausou's plugins for nero

http://www.bitburners.com/Nero_Audio_Plugins/

then you can burn any of these formats straight without recoding or any crap.
* MP4/AAC
* Dolby Ac3
* APE - Monkey's Audio
* Windows Media Audio WMA/ASF
* FLAC - Free Lossless Audio Codec
* MP3 - Utilizing LAME MP3
* MusePack
* OptimFROG
* OGG Vorvbis
* RealMedia / RealAudio
* Shorten (SHN)
* Speex
* WavPack

while it doesn't say nero 7 is supported, it seems to work fine for me.

or you can use the diskwriter output plug-in for winamp to make wav files

preferences(ctrl+p)-->output-->nullsoft diskwriter

just make sure you put it back to directsound when your done, or it won't make any sound and eat up all your hard drive space fast.

Thanks Rocker. I actually have Nero 6. I didn't know about these plug-ins. How do I download these? When I go to the audio-plug-ins to download, it takes me to the home page.
