Beta 8.1 (minor fixes)

* Extended info saves better now. Actually in the right order and with all info

* <Add new> tweaked again. But it does not save playlists automatically unless set to do so...or is that you mean?
They act like regular root playlists cause they are...

* Show all files are introduced to playlist tree-menu. Let you see all files no matter if filetypes are set or not.
Language file got one new menu...see language file.

* And yes I totally forgot to add genre to search. Should be there now though.

I do think that option did made a difference:
The "No, keep exsisting entry and do nothing" is only for when a file is ALREADY in the list. When double-click action is set to 'none', double click will do absolutely nothing, file already in the list or not.
Also that option prevents file are being move to bottom al the time (what jonas didn't like).
But i'm not going to ask to put it in again, this option has been changed and changed and re-changed enough (hehe), and it's good as it is now

Jonas, what do you think of the other requests, i mean
the collapse/expand all folders, on rightclick root folder (Billyvnilly), the force shuffle of when enqueue after current, and the advanced playlist repair?
Any chance some of this make it in?

Another idea for advanced playlist repair:
Autofix, fixes all entries of files that were found in another location of the DL tree, and then pops up a message like: '45 entries fixed, 12 remaining. Would you like to continue fix manualy?' The manual fix would then do the browse file/skip/remove thing.

Do you mean auto as on every start of Winamp? Or auto as 1-click-repair-all-playlists?

Could warn you that it is probably quite buggy.

But super-root is implemented. Read the review at Lion12's homepage...and I hate bad reviews for something I actually can do, just been to lazy. So 1.1 should have a much better review!

Superroot will be possible to turn off later...the code supports it, just haven't gotten around to put it into Preferences. need sleep again. Damn body who can't go too many hours without rest!

Most of jojo's other requests are likely to be implemented too. None are very hard to do...I think

yes, "none" and "No, keep exsisting entry and do nothing" are not same meaning. but if you don't know the "double-clicked file" is already in the playlist editor and dl don't respond to this action, why you double clicked that file? (especially for "enqueue and play" and "enqueue after current")
same for double clicking duplicate entry intentionally, it's no reason to choose "No, keep exsisting entry and do nothing".

Do you intend to remove the search mode when the superroot is fully working? i mean:

Search mode can search for folders too...that's something Browse mode can't...

Also in search mode the icons in the treeview are an easy indicator to see if the file is a playlist or not.
If you could find a workaround that first one i could live without the second, but i'm not sure other people can...

@jojo: no I have no plans to remove Search mode. But super-root has been a request for a long time but I have made it optional because I for one won't use it. I prefer Search mode for those searches.

The Alt+G business is something we overlooked in 1.0 I think. As far I can see in the code there's no Alt+G at all but rather Ctrl+G works differently depending on what (tree or list) is focused. It's really bad I think, but I guess the two were too similar to have two different shortcuts...

Super-root is very nice

Some issues though (you didn't see that one coming )
Issues not necessarily related to the super-root, btw...
- When reading all tags in a folder, the status at the bottom doesn't say "To stop tag-reading, press 'escape'".

- When you switch the tree from the right to the left (in prefs), and the contents of the treelist take more space than the content of the listview, the listview is not properly refreshed (see attached screenshot).

- Jojo was not only referring to the Alt+G issue when he linked to here. It seems that for him when switching from search to browse mode in the selected folder not only the files in that folder are displayed in the listview, but also files not belonging there from some playlist root. I can't reproduce it...

- Maybe idea to also add play/enqueue features to super-root right-click menu?

I'd love to test the extended m3u also, is something I've wanted as well
(maybe if I have time for it later today)

Super-root is great. May I come forward with a proposal - perhaps that's a silly thought and not easy to implement, but maybe it's something to discuss:

First it would be nice to have some (funny word) 'subordinate-super-roots': Meaning you can choose some root folders and create a super root below them. This would be useful to have one super root with music files roots and one super root with videos for example.

Another mad dream: 'Joined-Roots'. Think Siebe mentioned this some time ago if I got him right. You can choose some root folders and they are merged together. subfolders named exaclty like the other one in the same tree level will be merged. So the user can't see that the files are physically stored in different folders. This could solve the following problem: You have categorized your music like class->genre->artist->album->title and your archive is spread over several hard disks or you want to add files from cd/memorystick and still want to maintain your structure.

What I don't like with all these super-roots is that they destroy the illusion of a dynamic library since we are no longer talking about a mirror of your harddrive but instead an abstraction more along the line of ML...

I don't know what anyone else thinks...this is more or less a joint project so if the general idea is that Lion12 is correct I guess I will look into it. But I thought I present my view first

you just make root playlist like "my music.m3u", "my video.m3u", "genre.m3u" or whatever for your purpose.

I got the same problem. I can sort on path, but as soon as I leave 'My Library' and come back later (i.e. select a root and re-select My Library again), it's a weird order again (while the arrow on the path column header is still displayed).

Good point. Thank you mrym. I think I can deal with nested playlists and maybe some things with albumlist.

Select one file in listview and hit play or enqueue button gets winamp crashed. Rightclick works though. Reproduceable, anyone? Edit:doubleclick works, too. Edit2: but "perform action on all items in listview" doesn't work.

Delete will make it. Remove from playlist probably not...

i can reproduce two unique problems, the difference of the two is that the first isnt automatic.


1. make sure top root(folder) is completely collapsed
2. rightclick treeview add folder
3. select top root, for me, its always fully expanded, it should just stay collapsed all the way.

if i repeat using the second root(folder) it never occurs.

AND
if the top root only shows the subfolders directly under it (no sub-subfolders visible) and i add a root(folder) it automatically goes to top root and expands all folders of top root. not reproducable with 2nd root(folder)

Yes, it does all kind of weird things, i'm still trying to firure it out myself but there sure is a bug.

edit: now removed that root playlist, and still acts weird.
it seems as like the files from previous 'goto' action are showed in the list, but in the tree always the correct folder is selected.

i can confirm problem.
everytime i hit the Ctrl+G from the search mode, tree view displays correctly but list view displays previous state.
it's hard to express cause of my english ability...

1. for example i have three root( A, B, C) each roots contains 10files (a01-10.mp3, b01-10.mp3, c01-10.mp3).

2. select root A, then swich to the search mode.

3. select b**.mp3 in the list view, then hit Ctrl+G, the tree view select root B but the list view displays root A's files.

4. select root B, then swich to the search mode.

5. select c**.mp3 in the list view, then hit Ctrl+G, the tree view select root C but the list view displays root B's files.

I have no idea what you're talking about...all cache files are put in the dl\Cache folder and all cache files have .tmp extension.
