ID tags
For my songs that are in the folder format of artist-album, the name of the song shows up in winamp correctly. I have a Miscellaneous folder though, named such, containing a hundred or so songs that were obtained without the whole album, all jumbled together in this miscellaneous folder. Winamp seems to ignore the ID tag, v1 and v2, on many of the songs. I can view file info, and see the tag info there, but it doesn't show up like that in the playlist window, tooltip, etc. It shows up like "Leapyear (Miscellaneous)" when it should be "Maria Taylor - Leap Year (11:11)". "11:11" is the album name. I can clearly see all the ID tag info in the file info box, but it doesn't use it, it seems. Why is this? In the MPEG decoder prefs, "Use ID tag info" boxes are checked (obviously, because the ID tags work on some songs, just not others)
Why is this? How can I get the info to show up for these random songs? EDIT: Gee. I completely deleted my music library, as I haven't done so in maybe 6 months, and everything cleared up. Every ID tag is registering now. It was probably just some things getting mis-read over time. Thanks for the potential help! Last edited by Wotching; 12th September 2006 at 06:05. |

Thank you for this post. I had the same issues (the tags wouldn't read properly in the playlist tooltips and PE even when they wer set correctly in the tag editor). Just cleared my ML and everything works fine now
