delay between server and client
hey folks,
is it normal, if i have a delay between my shoutcast server and clients, if i play some music in winamp? i mean, if i shut down the shoutcast server, i still hear nearly 10-15 seconds music in winamp, before it stopps.. thanks p.s.: sorry for my bad english, i'm still learning

Delay is there and will be longer at a lower bit rate. Also the distance the traffic travels can add to the delay. As a test I was streaming from my Pc, and another user on my network listened in, there was at least a 2 minute delay from live to client. This is anoying, but normal for shoutcasting. I ran my test at 56kbps, the delay went down if I ran at 128kbps, however that uses too much bandwidth for a 'talk show' type of stream. Stil the delay was 30 ~ 90 seconds.
