Annoying Problem

Hi, i just downloaded Winamp 5.3 Full, clean installed it with no other 3rd party plugins and it hit me. When i want to setup options for direct sound all i see is garbage characters on the buttons and the text like (???) same happens for the ID3 tag editor, for the genere i see only one letter like (A, R, C, etc) and the buttons show (???). If i remove the WMA playback support i can see the direct sound options properly but the ID3 tag editor remains the same. Please help me

These are my system specs: PIII 700MHz, 512MB RAM, C-Media CMI 8738 sound card w/ latest drv, Windows 98 SE (Unofficial Service Pack 2.1a from http://exuberant.ms11.net/98sesp.html) , DirectX 8.1, Voodoo Banshee gfx card w/ latest drv. Please help me. Thanks in advance
