no

the installer must not be changed in any way shape or form.

you may not sell it.

You may have it on your website as long as whats said above is met.

for more info read our distribution agreement

So to have someone build the player I need, would it be best to just contact a visuals designer here @ winamp to build me a player from scratch. I need it to be amazing like the X-plugin visualisation.(speakers react to the beat) Any words on where to hire someone for this?
Thanks

there are skins for winamp that have virtual speakers that react to the beat.

it can be done in maki.(no plugin needed)

look at this skin by mc^^^^ called JRS(one of my fav skins)

for someone to build an awesome new player from scratch with a nice skinnable interface, plugin architecture and visualization stuff, would take a few years by yourself. cost a few hundred grand if you want to hire more people.

aol bought winamp for somewhere between 80 and 100 million dollars to put things into perspective.

Wow, that's crazy. Really I just want someone to use flash to build me a player for my website. And incorperate the jump to the beat speakers if possible. Do you think that is something I should just learn to build myself. I have Flash 8, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and a few more. Do you know anyone who can pull that off?

thanks guys, the signature of "ethan_h" cracked me the hell up!

if you really want to do this, you could possibly look around about hiring one of winamp's many talented skinners, i'm sure they could make something you'd like, but don't go spamming peoples inboxes or anything, and remember i said hire, i have no idea how much they'd want though.

you might ask in the skinning forum here, if anyone would be interested in doing a commission skin for you.

I hate everyone, so you don't have to.

I remembered there being a real simple html winamp player. It wasn't an official Nulsoft product but it looked like winamp 2.0 and could be run from a browser. The closest thing I could find via a quick google search was AjaxAmp

nice job siebe83, using the above link I was able to create this web based winamp. Yet I can only get it to run if I change the java settings to ask for permission to run unsigned unsecured content (running Java 1.5). Neat though, you can use any skin use the eq, and stream songs from online.
