Shoutcast Source - cannot connect, no log file
I already had Winamp, I added Shoutcast server and Shoucast Source DSP to my Win2K box. I had a successful setup that was working well, I rebooted my computer and now it is a "no go".
I can select the 'source' to be Winamp or the soundcard in the input tab; no difference with either. On the output tab when I click 'Connect' the status briefly goes to 'Connecting' and then status returns to 'Not Connected'. I have verified that I have nothing using port 8000 on my Win2K box. I am not running any firewall software. The sc_serv.log file isn't even being written to - I renamed the old one (that had a successful connection logged before my reboot). Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? Tried removing Winamp, Shoutcast server and the Shoutcast Source DSP and re-installed them all, but to no avail. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks! |

it looks to me that your dont have sc_serv running. Its not installed as a services that runs when the computer is rebooted, you need to run it again.
if you reinstalled them, well you still need to run it and it will write to the log file in the same directory as sc_serv, not another folder. Also if you run sc_serv console or GUI it will also echo the logging to the screen if again that is when you have it running. ~ D ~ According to the ship's log we're down to our last 3000 vomit bags. It'll never be enough. ![]() search the forums! don't PM me on how-to, or ask me to setup you system. you do it so you learn. |

I will ensure that sc_serv gets started up during a reboot. Many thanks! |
