winamp autoqueuing everything! non-instant playback from windows?
i have the latest winamp installed as of today.
i format my machine regularly and have been having this problem on random occurrences of installing winamp recently. all my apps are default, clean installs etc. all my apps are latest installs i might add. - in windows when i select all audio files (doesn't matter what file format) (crtl+a) and hit enter to play them in winamp, winamp opens and plays the files in the incorrect order i.e. if the files are arranged in explorer numerically, winamp queues them up in a random order for some reason. if i repeat the process (now with winamp open), then it plays them in numeric order correctly. basically winamp has a problem playing things in order unless the app is open already. - my second problem, and the main reason for this post, is that winamp refuses to play my files instantly. for instance in explorer i double click on a music file (irrelevant of file format) and it plays it. i double click again straight after on another file in explorer and it queues it up against the first. if i wait a few seconds and then try again, it plays the file instantly and replaces my playlist as it should. i have tried making sure the GENERAL PREFERENCES > FILE TYPES > 'ENQUEUE FILES ON DOUBLE CLICK IN WINDOWS EXPLORER' is unchecked, but it makes no difference to my gripe. may i add, i don't get these problems after every format and clean install, just sometimes. i don't know whether this a winamp problem (hopefully) or a windows one? any help/feedback??? many thanks, lewis ps. i will post this in both the 'technical' and 'bug report' forums, as i'm unsure as which it applies to best atm. [Edit --> DJ Egg] Sorry, not a hope of anyone reproducing this. Crossposted here |
