Media Library complecations

i just downloaded winamp and i want to add music to my media library. i tryed to do it according to how the help menu says to, but no "add files" window ever pops up.
ive also tried click and dragging files, but no dice.
what could possibly tbe the problem?
what else should i try?

Please provide system specs.

The 'Add media to library' dialog was redesigned in 5.32, maybe there's some problem with it. It works fine here though.
