Multiple unique broadcasters / playlist question
Is there anyway to force Winamp to update its current playlist after the playlist has been updated outside of winamp? The situation is this: I have some php / mysql code on my website which in a nutshell allows users to control what plays on the shoutcast stream. It is analagous to users making requests to a radio station. When one user queues a song it effects all users listening.
However, I'm not satisfied with this and would like the users to be able to log in and do essentially the same thing per user, not for the entire site. To do this I need to be able to create playlists on the fly (easy),launch a new instance of winamp and shoutcast server on the web server with the newly created playlist(more tricky), and get this playlist to update automatically when it changes(no idea how to do this). Hopefully someone has a clue about what I'm trying to get at. So to recap, I basically need a way for winamp to recognize when the playlist it is using has been altered and to "refresh" the playlist on the fly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Thanks, I'll give it a go. Hopefully I can get it to work.
Another question. When using this I could have it run the m3u on a certain scheduled time, but if I have multiple instances of Winamp open it will change the playlist in all instances. Is there any way via a batch file or directly with winamp that I could specify a specific instance of winamp? Is there anyway to simulate opening a playlist in winamp? |
