Extract audio from windows media files

Hello,

We have a rather strange setup in a project I'm working on. We get a lot of data from several sources and in different formats (some with DRM, some without) but basicly all content should play in windows media player. This content is uploaded automaticly and not directly under our control.

We need to extract the audio from these files and distribute that using a shoutcast server to a number of endpoints.

The obvious solution is to play the content in windows media player, capture the sound and send that sound to the SHOUTcast server.

But what is the best way to set this up?

use shoutcast and winamp in soundcard mode

this will enable you to play the content on your pc and stream it out on your shoutcast server.
