Gracenote look-up
Hi all,
when I put any audio CD into the mechanic and try to play it in Winamp, the winamp starts the Gracenote look-up plugin. When I cancel the look-up the whole Winamp collapses. My audio CDs are usually not so common (but they are originals and are working correctly) and so if I continue with look-up Gracenote offers me to submit new CD data. When I fill the form and click "OK" the Gracenote says "succesfull" (or something similar) and then as it switches of the whole Winamp collapses. It seems that problem is with switching of the gracenote look-up. I experienced same problem in at least 3 versions of Winamp, with different CDs, therefore I'm writing to you. My computer configuration is: AMD Duron 750MHz 512MB SD RAM CD mechanic: Samsung CD-R/RW SW-216B OS: Windows XP Pro. |

PS:
PS:
Internet configuration: I'm connected via router and through Kerio Personal Firewall with open access for Winamp (the access is granted in Kerio). PPS: Maybe it would help just to switch off the Gracenote look-up but I don't know how... |

Hmm, I can't reproduce the problem (at least not with 5.34 beta)
but I can tell you how to disable cddb... Winamp > Prefs (Ctrl+P) > Plugins > Input: Nullsoft CD Plugin (in_cdda.dll) > Config Uncheck "Use CDDB" |

![]() The problem seems now to be in playing the CD itself (I just discovered that Gracenote has no effect on it. The Winamp just collapses when I try to play any audio CD). It seems there is some problem in my system. Maybe registers, or maybe the CD buffer doesn't communicate properly with Winamp. However, the VLC player can play the CD correctly, but the stream is not fluent when I work on the computer in any way and sometimes not even when computer is inact. Maybe there is problem with my CD mechanics, I will see... Thanks once again. |
