The new site!!!
The new site design has gone live. Please feel free to leave feedback here. Please also provide us with your browser/OS when leaving feedback, so we have the needed info to troubleshoot.
**EDIT** To cut down on the length of this thread I will be deleting suggestions as they get added to the main list. I will also be closing (and eventually deleting) new threads that are started. **/EDIT** **EDIT** On the user section: N means new, D means flagged for deletion. The user section is still in the works. **/EDIT** A few words of caution: This is not a place to flame. We openly invite constructive criticism, but this is not an open invite to flame. I have plenty of water and a shiny ban button in case this thread turns into such. <3 CURRENT ITEMS
RESOLVED ITEMS (soon to be deleted from the list)
Please don't PM me for technical support. Other users can't search through PM's so it does the other users no good. |

First reply in a new forum!
I've wanted to do that for the last seven years now.... Carry on...(oh, and get ready for a slew of 'why is it still fixed width' threads ) |

In any case, it looks nice enough. I'd suggest using rounded corners at the very top, similar to the WinAmp Modern default skin. ![]() Who is the milkman? What is the purpose of the goggles? |

WRT to the widescreen avatars, I did make it clear that I was waiting for these changes to be done and finalised before I offered up any code changes. We'll see what happens, im sure things will get smoothed over pretty sharpish. If they don't, you guys always have a whole ton of wrath to brandish

This is what I'm talking about - (1) the top line isn't displayed properly, (2) the box you reply in isn't displayed properly (too far to the right) and (3) and (4) the entire forum is small widthwise on the screen. Screen shots below:
(1) (2) ![]() (3) (4)

Apparently, you haven't done anything about the text just below the "forum rules" thing - the layout/design is odd when reading a thread, but is consistent for everywhere else. I apparently need screenshots to help explain.
Screenshot #1 - When viewing a thread, you can see that the text at the very bottom is much smaller when reading a thread and the top part hard to read due to almost no contrast. Screenshot #2 - Every other page has that same text displayed like in this screenshot. There is the same dark red background, the text is larger and much easier to read, and every other page besides the types shown in screenshot #1 (showthread.php). This hasn't been fixed in the two days I've been reporting this oddity. You're probably just pointing to the wrong style for that part. void BlueWater() {water.color=blue; while(GameRunning) {if (fox.pos == InBlueWater) {fox.air--; FoxDrown(fox.air);} else {fox.air=1800; fox.flags = WantsToGetWet; } WaitFrames(1); }} // My top favorite thing in 2D Sonic (as C) |

Here's some CSS rules for Stylish (for firefox) that will make the forums variable width (wide screen capable)
code: it's not perfect since I cant figure out how to do the right shadow part of the background right, but it will do. |

This is the skins database. . . everything will get up and running, but it just might be later rather than sooner.

To add my previous (not so informative) post... The glitch only occurs on skins/plug-ins that has long lines (without spaces) in the description text. E.g. The url in the Electric Wave skin description or url in the Beeropolis plug-in description.

Perfect! I should be able to duplicate this with that info. Once I get it duplicated I'll add it to the list. Thanks!

Actually, this should be resolved after the code push I just did. It truncates it at a certain amount of characters and adds "..." to the end. Let me know if you're still seeing this, but hopefully the push from today resolved it. :-)

The text at the very bottom of the page when reading a thread in the forums is inconsistent with that of the rest of the forums. This is now the fourth time I've mentioned this and I don't see it in the master list either.
void BlueWater() {water.color=blue; while(GameRunning) {if (fox.pos == InBlueWater) {fox.air--; FoxDrown(fox.air);} else {fox.air=1800; fox.flags = WantsToGetWet; } WaitFrames(1); }} // My top favorite thing in 2D Sonic (as C) |

Sorry. I had it listed as "footer text"...I'll add a second item for "The text at the very bottom of the page when reading a thread in the forums is inconsistent with that of the rest of the forums."

You just had "footer text is too small". The inconsistent style covers that and the color differences as well. The background otherwise is the dark red with the text of other colors and bigger. I've just given a more broader explanation and the flaw may be just pointing to the wrong part of the style sheet or the wrong style sheet as is. You can delete this (and my other message above) as it's for clarification and "improvement" on the notification. Thanks though.
void BlueWater() {water.color=blue; while(GameRunning) {if (fox.pos == InBlueWater) {fox.air--; FoxDrown(fox.air);} else {fox.air=1800; fox.flags = WantsToGetWet; } WaitFrames(1); }} // My top favorite thing in 2D Sonic (as C) |

I've seen that you've fixed the case with larger avatars, but I still see it as 50x50 in the profile. Was that the original size? What is the new size, if it is actually available?
Also, a suggestion. For images wider than, say, 640 pixels, the image should be scaled down (keeping aspect ratio) and made clickable so a full-size version can be viewed. This prevents unwanted stretching for those who view wide images (such as my 1920x1440 screenshots) at a very low resolution without stretching the table enough to have horizontal scrolling. I can program the algorithm (in C anyway, not PHP) if you want since that should be fairly easy for me to do (being the math whiz I am). I can even have it so users (or the admins only) would be able to choose their maximum allowed widths (likely to be 1600 for me, but others may use 1280, 1024, 800, or 640 for their screen resolution). Allowing these options is beyond my knowledge for use in the forums, but I can have the algorithm support anything (out to maybe 65,535, the limit of a short). void BlueWater() {water.color=blue; while(GameRunning) {if (fox.pos == InBlueWater) {fox.air--; FoxDrown(fox.air);} else {fox.air=1800; fox.flags = WantsToGetWet; } WaitFrames(1); }} // My top favorite thing in 2D Sonic (as C) |

It's an easy fix. The problem lies within this table...
__________________________________________________________ <!-- icon key --> <table cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%" align="center"> <tr><td colspan="5" align="center"><font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size="1">All times are GMT -5 hours. The time now is 06:05 PM.</font></td></tr> <tr><td rowspan="2" width="50%">&nbsp;</td> <td nowrap><font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size="1"><img src="images/newfolder.gif" border="0" alt="New Posts"> <b>New posts</b> &nbsp;&nbsp;</font></td> <td nowrap><font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size="1">( <img src="images/newhotfolder.gif" border=0 alt="Hot Thread"> <b>More than 20 replies or 150 views</b> )&nbsp;&nbsp;</font></td> <td nowrap><font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size="1"><img src="images/lockfolder.gif" border="0" alt="Closed Thread"> <b>Closed thread</b></font></td> </tr> <tr> <td nowrap><font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size="1"><img src="images/folder.gif" border="0" alt="No New Posts"> <b>No new posts</b> &nbsp;&nbsp;</font></td> <td nowrap colspan="2"><font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size="1">( <img src="images/hotfolder.gif" border=0 alt="Hot Thread"> <b>More than 20 replies or 150 views</b> )&nbsp;&nbsp;</font></td> <td rowspan="2" width="50%">&nbsp;</td></tr> </table> <!-- /icon key --> __________________________________________________________ The problem lies within the 2 cell tags indicated in red above that are currently coded this way... <td rowspan="2" width="50%"> The width attribute can either be eliminated completely, to have both cells read this way... <td rowspan="2"> or... give them a lesser percentage. Example: <td rowspan="2" width="10%"> Problem solved. Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads. Addendum...
This is how it will display using a width of 10% in those 2 cells... ![]() Much better. Wouldn't you agree? ![]() A hell of a lot better than this... |

Very nice design. The old site was certainly due for a change.
I encountered a problem immediately, however, with the nav buttons at the top (i.e. home, player, skins, etc.). The problem is that if the mouse cursor hovers over a button revealing the drop down menu, but does not move over one of the menu options fast enough after leaving the button, the menu becomes hidden again. Quite frustrating! I tested this in Firefox 2.0 and IE 7.0 and was able to reproduce the problem in both browsers. The problem seemed to be worse in Firefox. |
