hi there,

i'm trying to broadcast a stream from a cd. i've followed the readme file by selecting the advanced features and when i click on 'Connect', i get a pop up saying 'error opening sounddev!'.

can someone please tell me the cause and a possible solution? my soundcard is a creative soundblaster live value, and winamp can play the cd's normally. (passively as the faq states.)

phew! hi all..

after such a long time, it's nice to be able to post some suggestions on things which work. i can now stream my CDs without any changes or using linerec or whatnot.
i've downloaded a plugin from Winamp called CD Reader.

i grabbed the latest version (1.8.2) from the author's site, since winamp stores a v1.7 that didn't work for me. works great now! only thing i don't like is the installation doesn't tell you where files go. so, look out for the README in the winamp plugins directory. you have to disable the old winamp .dll..well, read the README and you'll know.

now, to see if there's a fix for the mic problem everyone is going through. personally, i don't think it's the soundcards, it's just the shoutcast team needing to sort out the coding so it will work right across all platforms & soundcards.
