I bought Hybrid Theory, it's a decent album even if all the songs sound about the same. And since they make more money than most of us, they must be doing something right.

I liked the first 2 albums. I haven't heard the new one yet though. I would agree with the songs sounding the same.

Hybrid Theory is a good album and Meteora is quite good too.
But there new album, well that's a different kettle of fish.
There music has changed, they sound like indie linkin park.
I suggest any one who wants to listen to it should start on track two then skip every other track. (Hands Held High is WTF on toast.)

And no, they don't all sound the same.

They don't sound the same. i have many Linkin Park albums. They have very different styles. Try Underground v5.0 and compare it to Meteora.

One tends to undermine a point when they make generalizations, so does EVERY linkin park song sound the same? maybe maybe not. The article I posted makes some valid points and backs them up with some examples to support it. The song I linked to with two different tracks mashed together is particularly comical and evincing. Thus I think the claims made by the article have some credibility and are worth considering. further it is not as though dislike linkin park in fact I have copies of four of their albums, its just that I stumbled upon the article and enjoyed it so I figured I would share it.

Meteora is an overall good CD that maybe only has one or two skippable tracks

But whatever I've heard from Minutes to Midnight, I've yet to like...Chester has gone all emo, but with an even smaller pair...

@ o.p. - good link - I noticed that I couldn't listen to them for very long because of that but I didn't realize that it was that exactly close - same beats, same intro, same chord and intensity progression - seems like they found something that sells well and stuck with it, which while great for them, sux for fans. This is how a one-hit-wonder makes their living without going broke I guess.

Remember Survivor's Eye of the Tiger (theme from one of the Rocky movies)? They could have made sooooo much more money just by writing:

Eye of the Lion
Eye of the Puma
Eye of the Cheetah
Eye of the House Cat
Eye of the Leopard
Eye of the Bobcat
Eye of the Siamese Hairless
etc., etc.,

but they didn't. Why? Because, they knew better than to belabor us with more of the same. One was good, two or more would have been redundant. They didnâ€™t do what it took to subtract the originality of the original.
