freezing up when converting

my computer freezes up when i try to convert mp3 to wave.i am trying to convert a song 26 mins long.help is greatly appreciated.thanks in advance.

Are you sure it crashes? a 26-min song will take a while (as well as ~260Mb), also check that "repeat" is disabled

I too am having a problem with WinAmp freezing the computer as I convert a song from .MP3 to .WAV.
It's as if the computer freezes up and the only solution is to hit the power button. Even Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't respond.
I usually can go through about four songs in the conversion process before it does freeze and I'm sure Shuffle and Repeat are not activated on WinAmp.
Please help if you can.
