Winamp closes within 3-5 seconds of opening it

Winamp will close almost immediately after I open it. If I try to play a song or click anywhere on the player, it closes. I've uninstalled and re-installed twice with the latest version, deleted all plug-ins, and it still does it.

Anyone have any ideas? I need my winamp!!!

It seems if I take my Sansa MP3 player out of the computer and run winamp, then it won't close. But if its plugged into the USB port, winamp closes immediately.

Is there someway I can still run winamp while having my mp3 player plugged in?

Same happens to me, If i unplug my USB harddrive it works but as soon as i connect the hdd back again it hangs up...

i have had the same problem with my sansa mp3 player. I went into the preferences, plugins, portable devices, and then uninstalled all the drivers there...probably the usb one that did it. Since i dont use that part of winamp, i wont miss it. You should try it Sam and if it dosnt work and you want those plugings back, a reinstall would do the trick. I just did it a few mins ago and its played thru a few songs no problem.
