Is there way to increase the speed of broadcast?

hey ..
Finally with help from you guys i succeeded to run my station on-line;].
now ,, when i give my friends the link to watch my video
they claim for the slow connection of getting the video
they say it takes a little bit till they watch the video
they wait much more to watch part of the video.
so my question now if there is a way to increase the speed of boradcasting by using the nsv-tools program.

Another thing,, do my friends have to install Winamp to be able to watch the video? because as i understood nsv extension is used mostly by Winamp player.
i know that there is activex and staff,, but i prefer to let others watch my videos by realplayer or even windows meda player.

third, on clicking at h t t p ://ip:8000/;filename.nsv
it does not open the Winamp or showing the video automatically. i should run Winamp manually then click on file=>open url. then to type the link.
is there way to run it automatically?

VLC can play NSV, but the X264 codec(At least the beta one from NSV) won't play as it should.

You can do two things to make it stream faster/better... ok 3 actually...

1) Re-encode the videos with lover bitrate(Remember to take down resolution and framerate if you want to keep some quality)

2) Upgrade your internet to be faster outbound speed.

3) Not stream to manny ppl at once.

Yes, by using the playlist shoutcast provides:
http://yourip : port/listen.pls

thx wildex999

thank u very much wildex999

for a moment i was thinking about how will */listen.pls work

because as i read in the sticky article

Where "your_ip" is the IP of the system running the SHOUTcast server. The port is 8000 by default (not 8001) or something else if you changed it in the SHOUTcast configuration (PortBase). There is no typo, use ";file.nsv" and not "listen.pls" after the address and port.

but it worked with me :P am not sure what that guy was talking about exactly.

The listen.pls in this case contains the ;file.nsv inside it, and .pls is usually opened in winamp, so it all works out ^^
