BPM. I find MixMeister no good
OK, it's free. But it is hopelessly inaccurate based on the tests I have just done.
Anybody got any ideas about some BPM software that does work as it would be a great tool to use with Winamp. Tony |

for music that doesn't have a distictive bpm(like techno) its hard for a computer algorithm to calculate this.
a more accurate approach is to lets say click the mouse with the beat for a minute and have the computer count the clicks. i don't know of any software that does this but I don't think it'd be hard to make. |

Rocker,
My needs come from the wish to be able to separate lively from sleepy tracks from albums I download in bulk. Thus I can build playlists for different moods. In theory I ought to be able to do it from the song titles - but in practice vocalists often record at unusual tempos and I get it wrong pretty often. Let's see if anyone comes up with a bit of software that betters the MixMeister effort. Tony |

Thanks flocksoft,
I'll give them a try. Sorry I missed the thread on my search. Tony |
